以前 体の部分を使ったイディオムを少しご紹介しましたが
今日は「肩」を使った英語表現の一部のご紹介です⭐
ご紹介表現以外にも色んな表現がありますので
他の言い方にご興味のある方は調べてみてください


「肩を貸す」= lend someone a shoulder
He lent Lisa his shoulder because she was injured.
リサが怪我をしたので彼は肩を貸した

「肩を持つ」= take side with
My dad always takes side with my youngest sister.
私の父はいつも末っ子の妹の肩を持つの

「肩を落とす」= one's shoulder drop
His shoulder dropped when he heard the disappointing news.
がっかりするニュースを聞いて彼女は肩を落とした

「肩を並べる」= rank with, shoulder to shoulder, be on a par with
She ranks with Bill Gates.
彼女はビルゲイツを肩を並べる

Our company is working shoulder to shoulder with local companies.
私たちの会社は地元の会社と協力して動いている

He is on a par with teacher.

いつものように…いきなりですが…今日は「梅雨」
ってことで…使える簡単な表現のご紹介デス

Tom: What is Tsuyu?
You: We call the early summer rainy season "Tsuyu" in Japanese.
　　　Usually it begins in early June and July.
　　　Tsuyu is literally means Plum Rain (in Chinese characters),
　　　because it rains during the season that plums ripen.

梅の雨と書いて梅雨…そのまま英語で Plum rain season でもOK
梅が熟す時期だからだそうです

紫陽花（あじさい）は hydrangea 【haidréindʒə】

土砂降り＝ heavy rain
暴風雨＝ rainstorm
小雨＝ sprinkle
