Straight from the PIG's Mouth - Chapter 5

if i would give this case as usual, I would use "avenge for unfulfilled love"

from moral or legal side, I agree that this lady Sharon, usually deserves condemnation or blame, because she will cause an innocent man to be put into prison for several years, if the detective was not smart and dilligent enough to find out the truth. 

however, from emotional side, I quite sympathize with Sharon, because she is "sick in love" with that man. but anyway, from what has happened, i would say that justice needs to be executed according to righteousness, but the detectives also did in a very human and cherishing way. 

the story begings with around 5 pm, when our dear author Al, has finished his day, returned to the police station, and was about to go home. you know, according to what movie or tv drama usually does, a police call suddenly came. so Al struggled for a few seconds, whether he should just ignore the call. but his conscience says "NO!". therefore, he answered the call and arrived at the scene within minutes. there was a lady, Sharon, around 30 years old, with a serious, maybe life-threatening stabbing at her stomach. Al exercised his duty as a detective to ask a few questions, in case the lady dies and her departing message will be crucial at the court. suprisingly, the lady was able to give the name, adrress and phone number of the offender, and even told the reason why he came to stab her, because he fancied her, but she did not fancy him and kicked him out from this flat last week. with the infomation got from the victim, Al went to track down the man, who is called Jimmy. they brought Jimmy back to the police station for an interview, and Jimmy was very cooperating, but he said that he did not do anything and he was wandering in city area during that time, and saw two wardens giving out a ticket to a illegally parked car. also, he gave a totally different story. he said that Sharon was in love with him, but he did not have any feeling toward Sharon, so he moved out the flat to stop her advancing in anyway. the next day, Al went to the city council and confirmed the time when that ticket was issued, and proved that Jimmy was not telling any lie, and he was innocent. 

now here, the only possible answer of this case would be that Sharon, the victim was purposefully lying. the truth of this tragedy turned out to be that, Sharon stabbed herself, with the determination to avenge Jimmy, because he did not respond to her love. 

this is a sad case I would say. we always say that "love is blind". sometimes, people will do terrible things because of their strong "love". there is a verse in the Old Testament which says:

Zechariah 13:6 And someone will say to Him, What are these wounds between Your arms? And He will say, Those with which I was wounded in the house of those who love Me.

the wound here refers to the wounds the Lord received when He was being crucified on the cross. and "the house of those who love Me" refers to the Israel people who crucified Him. this is a really sweet and intimate verse, in the view of the Lord, though Israel people wounded and even killed Him, He still thought they are those who love Him, and He thought the place of His death is in the house of those who love Him. this is the great loving heart of our dear Lord Jesus. we may do crazy and horrible things to the Lord, with the so-called reason that "we love the Lord Jesus". but His love is so great that He would never condemn us and He recognised our love. 

this shows us a great contrast between our love and the love of the Lord. how can we love each other without hurting or wounding? the only way is that we allowed the Lord to fill us with His great and unlimited love. 

Romans 5:5 And hope does not put us to shame, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us.
