EY accused of quashing negative story

ＥＹのニュージーランド事務所では、ジャーナリズム・アワードという優良ビジネス記事を表彰するイベントをやっていますが、ＥＹのクライアントである富士ゼロックスの不正を取り上げた記事を失格させようとしたとして、同国のメディアから批判を浴びているそうです。

The media in New Zealand are abandoning EY’s national journalism awards over allegations of an ethics conflict of interest

The firm, according to several reports in New Zealand, tried to disqualify an award entry from publication National Business Review (NBR) that had criticised one of EY’s clients, Fuji Xerox .

Fuji Xerox has been at the centre of an accounting scandal.

ＥＹの措置に抗議して、記事を書いたNational Business Reviewというメディアは、このイベントへの応募を撤回し、他のいくつかのメディアもそれに追随しているそうです。

In protest, NBR publicly withdrew from the annual awards and several other publications have now followed suit.

イベントの目的は立派なのでしょうが、その目的のためには事務所自身や事務所のクライアントをけなすような記事も公平に審査しなければならないので、そもそも無理があるのかもしれません。
