1983年にマイケル・ジャクソンが約14分間のミュージックヴィデオ『Thriller』をつくったときには、50万ドルという巨額の費用が話題になった。時代は移り、2014年5月18日（米国時間）にラスヴェガスで開催された音楽の祭典「ビルボード・ミュージック・アワード」では、いまは亡きマイケルのホログラムによる4分間のパフォーマンスが行われたが、これには「数百万ドル」もの費用がかけられたという。
