Jeongyeon (TWICE) confesses... "I quit being a trainee and thought about getting a job at a bakery shop"

Jeongyeon (20), a member of the Korean girl group TWICE, revealed that she had thought about getting a job at a bakery shop before her debut.

On the afternoon of the 24th, JTBC's "Around the World in a Package" will reveal the story of TWICE, who went on a package trip to Da Nang, Vietnam.

After enjoying their trip to Da Nang, TWICE reminisced that they had not been able to enjoy traveling during their long trainee life. Kim Yong Man and other co-stars were surprised to hear the members' stories of having spent a much longer trainee life than expected at a young age, and asked, "During that long period, was there ever a moment when you thought about giving up?"

Jeongyeon then confessed, "There was a time when I thought about giving up on my debut as a singer." "To be honest, I once tried to give up on (my debut as a singer). I didn't go to an agency and I worked part-time at a bakery," she said. "When I started working part-time, I found that it suited me better than I thought. So I really thought about getting a job at a bakery."

TWICE appeared on JTBC's "Around the World in a Package" in a package travel edition to Da Nang, Vietnam. I haven't seen the original broadcast. I wonder if it's a show where K-POP members who appear as guests talk about their thoughts on music and their recent situations through footage of them visiting tourist spots in between their busy schedules... Kim Yong Man and other co-stars on the show asked the members about their story of spending a much longer time as trainees than expected at a young age. "During that long period, was there ever a moment when you thought about giving up?"

Jeongyeon seems to have answered honestly. To be honest, I once tried to give up on (my debut as a singer). I once worked at a bakery without showing my face to the agency. It suited my personality, so I thought about getting a job at a bakery...

Day after day, I live the life of a trainee. Will the day of my debut ever come? As I dream of that day, anxiety and worries continue to cross my mind.

The number of trainees who spend years as trainees at major agencies and other organizations continues to increase every year as K-POP becomes more popular.

Many of these trainees are unable to achieve their dream of debuting, and end up disappearing into bakeries or offices in the city.

Perhaps the reason those who achieve this sparkle on stage is because they also carry the dreams of those who have given up.
