TWICE's Japanese singles top Oricon chart for 4 consecutive days

TWICE has been topping Oricon's daily single rankings for 4 days.

TWICE's first original Japanese single "One More Time," released on the 18th, sold 18,278 copies on the 4th day of release, taking the top spot on Oricon's daily single rankings on the 20th.

It sold 94,957 copies on the day of release, 43,412 copies on the 2nd day, and 20,364 copies on the 3rd day, maintaining its position at number 1 on the rankings, and it has maintained its position on the 4th day as well, showing its long-running popularity. The total number of copies sold over the 4 days was 177,011.

TWICE sold 94,957 copies on the first day, setting a new record for the highest number of copies sold on the day of release for a Korean girl group in Japan. On the second day of release, they sold 138,369 copies, breaking the record for the highest initial sales (sales in the first week of release) among Korean girl groups in just two days, and on the third day of release, they sold 158,733 copies, surpassing the highest initial sales in the history of debut singles by foreign artists in three days, and continue to break new records.

Also, in Korea, they will make a comeback on the 30th with the title song "Likey" from their first album "Twicetagram," aiming for their sixth consecutive hit and to take the number one spot in both Japan and Korea.

"Twicetagram" will be released on various music sites at 6 pm on the 30th. Along with the release of the music, TWICE will hold a showcase titled "TWICE SHOWCASE #5 LIKEY" at 8 pm that day at the YES24 Live Hall in Gwangjin-gu, Seoul. This will be broadcast live on V LIVE, and TWICE will perform "LIKEY" for the first time in front of their fans.

This is what the rising momentum is all about. It seems like a lie that their Japanese debut song seemed like a struggle.

The sales of TWICE's first original single in Japan, "One More Time," are amazing.

In this day and age when it's not easy to sell 100,000 copies, they've already sold 177,011 copies in four days. At this rate, they'll easily surpass 300,000 copies.

KARA and Girls' Generation, who spearheaded the first K-POP boom in Japan, reached their peak in popularity in two years, strictly speaking, and have maintained their popularity on a gradual downward slope ever since.

TWICE debuted in Korea exactly two years ago, and in Japan this summer. Some people said that their popularity would end by the end of last year, but it's still on the rise both globally and in Japan.

I was watching their videos on YouTube yesterday. Watching them on stage, it's hard to focus on anyone in particular. I find myself getting distracted and before I know it, I'm immersed in the whole group.

I don't often get distracted like this with other girl groups. With 5 or 6 people it's one thing, but with 9 people I often find myself focusing on the one I'm interested in, the group as a whole, and spot movements.

The more you watch TWICE and the more you get into them, the more attractive they become.
