This morning, the 2C girls embarked on a life skills adventure! Together, we travelled through Josui-Dori, looking closely at everything we saw. We were trying to find as many public and private places as we could.
We were also trying to really think about what was around us... What kinds of people did we see? Where did water in the streets go? What kinds of buildings were the most popular? Which shops did we notice? Why were there yellow lines with bumps on the sidewalk? Why did people put plants and trees on sidewalks? What was the difference between public places and privates places? As we walked, we talked about what we saw and asked many questions.
When we returned to the classroom, we sat and shared our questions and observations. There were a lot of different ideas to talk about and learn from! We learned a lot about public and private places. But that's not all! We also learned how to think critically and ask questions about everyday, normal things.
So next time you go walking, look closely at what's around you. Maybe you'll see some things you never noticed before. And maybe, just maybe, you'll learn something new too!
