The 2nd Asia Pacific International Peace Memorial (APIPM) has been held from December 6 until 10, 2011.

The Bell Amphitheater -Camp John Hay, Baguio City

 

 

The activity aims to commemorate the bombing of the Japanese Imperial Army of the Philippines in 1941, marking their entry into the World War II (Dec 8 at Camp John Hay)

 

Objectives:
1. To commemorate the bombing of the Japanese Imperial Army of the Philippines, marking their entry into the World War II by laying a wreath on December 8, 2011 at Camp John Hay
2. To express stories of WWII from the Veterans and the Japanese participants -through film showing of “Nowhere Yet Everywhere” & “The Last Japanese Soldier” – Dec 6 to 10, 2011)
3. To experience the challenges of life during WWII -vicariously, through storytelling of the Veterans, and physically, through trekking the path the residents of Itogon took to safety on December 10, 2011
4. To contemplate on the historical accounts, motivations, and current situation of the Japanese-invaded countries in the Asia-Pacific on December 9 and 10, 2011
5. To empower individuals and communities to observe peace-keeping practices in socio-economic and cultural development
