全英将棋大会を計画しているDaveと連絡が取れて、大会は７月下旬だが、定期的にロンドンで将棋をしているとのことでした。たまたま、次の例会が明日開かれるとのことでしたので、ロンドンに出掛けてきます。トラファルガー広場近くのカフェネロでやるというのがイギリスらしいですが。
先ほど、ロンドン行きの電車を調べてみたら、いつもは乗り換え無しで１時間ほどで行くはずが、明日は何の理由か（恐らくEngineering worksかその他不明な理由でしょう。）、３回乗り換えて２時間かけないと行けないみたいです。
というわけで、早起きして出掛けてきます。イギリス人が将棋をしている場面を想像するだけでもわくわくします。
I contacted Dave, who organises the 2006 British Open Shogi Championships. He says, the Chimpionships will take place in the end of July and he regularly plays Shogi in London. The next meeting happens to be tomorrow. Then, I decided to join it. It sounds like very British style that the venue is Cafe Nero near the Trafalgar Square.
I checked the train timetable just now and found that there is no direct train (1 hour) tomorrow to London, not as usual. Tomorrow I have to change trains 3 times before reaching London with 2 hours trip. Probably it is because of engineering works or whatever reasons.
That's how it is. I am going to wake up early tomorrow morning. I am feeling excited when I imagine British guys are playing Shogi.

というわけで、圧勝という結果にはほど遠かったわけですが、いろいろな発見があった一日でした。もちろん、いっしーなら圧勝でしょうけど。イギリス来て打倒しません？
