上海では、交通は右側通行であり、即ち車は左ハンドル、歩行者は右側通行です。

マレーシアは日本と同じ右ハンドル、歩行者左側通行なので、僕とマレーシア人同級生3人は中国の道路で戸惑うことがあります。

同級生のCちゃんは、マレーシアのクアンタン地方出身の中華系マレーシア人ですが、左側をずんずん進み続けるので、
「Cちゃん、中国は右側通行なんだよ。車もほら、左ハンドル右側走ってるよね」と言うと、

「でも私左利きだし！」との返答。

どういう理論か詳しく聞いてみたかったのですが、路上で座り込むのも迷惑になるので後々、さんざんネタにしました。

In Shanghai, traffic is Right-handed. - so Cars are left-handled, and people walk on the right.

In Malaysia, just like in Japan, they follow the Left-handed traffic system. So the 3 Malaysian classmates and I have trouble navigating ourselves in the Chinese roads.

My classmate C is from Kuantan, Malaysia. She keeps marching on the left side of the traffic, so I told her - "C, in China roads, we have to walk on the right, you see - the cars are left-handled and running on the right also, right?"

she goes - "But I'm Left-handed!"

I wanted to discuss what was the logic in there, but I guessed it would be a hindrance to traffic so later I talked about it - for a laugh.

在马来西亚，同样的日本是靠左侧行驶的国家，那我和马来西亚人的同学们有时很弄乱。

我的同学-C妹是来自Kuantan，马来西亚。他强迫走左边，那我说
“喂，C-在中国我们要行右边。你看，车在右边吗”

他说-“但我是左撇子！”

我要对他讨论有那个伦理，但我想我就阻塞那个街道。以后我们笑谈一点。

上海に行く！（直前）Flying to Shanghai! (soon) 就在飞去上海！

現在搭乗ゲートに誰よりも早く着き、飛行機を待っている途中です。

朝4:10分の羽田行きバスに乗り、羽田空港内で牛丼を食べ、本屋さんに行き、コンビニに行ってビール飲んで・・・のったらのったらゲートに着いたのですが、

バスの中で昔の記憶を呼び覚ます出来事が有ったので投稿してます。

バスの中途駅で、視覚障害者の方が乗ってこられました。
交通機関と視覚障害者の方のコンビネーションで何か、心に残る事が有ったような・・・と考えていたら、思い出しました。

それは僕がマレーシアで公共交通機関であるLRTを使って学校に通っている時でした。

マレーシアでの中央駅といったら、KL Sentral Station駅と言う駅です。
ここには、LRT、KTM、長距離バスや長距離電車、色々な交通機関が交差するところなのですが、

この混雑しているなか、視覚障害者の方が立っていらっしゃったので、どうしたのかと様子を伺っていたら、30秒ほど動かなかったので、（どうしようかな、何処かに行きたいのかな）と思う反面、（お節介かな）とも思ったのですが、勇気を出して聞いてみました。

「何処に行きたいのですが？」と聞くと、「いや、ココで良いんだけどね・・・」との答えが来て、（やっぱり余計なお世話だったかも！）なんて思っていたら、何処からともなく「おぉ、お前居たのか！？」と言う声が聞こえてきて、声の方向を見ると、もうひとりの視覚障害者が居られました。

そうすると、僕が声をかけた方も笑顔になり、お互いに近づきあい、握手をして腕を組み、親しげに歩いて行ったのです。

この出来事から、健常者には何でもない待ち合わせも、視覚障害者にはどんなに難しい事なのだろう、そしてこんなに広い所で出会え無い事は無いのかなと。
そしてお節介した結果、お互いが少しでも早く出会えたのなら良かったかな、と思ったのです。

その後、視覚障害者を見かけたらどう対処したら良いか調べた所、このようなウェブサイト　http://home.c00.itscom.net/t2oho4no/fukusitaiken/yuudou/yuudou.htm　も見つけ、少し勉強になりました。

お節介でも良いから積極的に声を掛けると言う事は、結構精神的労力の居る事なのですが、僕なんかは運よく親切な方々（他人）に心遣いをして貰う事が多いので、少しでも僕も周りの役に立ちたいと自然に思うようになりました。

この投稿を書きながら暇をつぶそうと思ったのですが、まだ搭乗まで3時間・・・勉強しよっと

I'm currently at the airport departure gate - way earlier than everyone else, waiting for the plane.

I took the bus here that departed at 4:10AM in the morning, reached haneda and ate Beef Bowl, strolled along to the bookstore and stopped by the convenience store to get a can of beer... after that I ambled towards the gate.

I thought I would write an entry because something happened on the bus that incited a memory in me.

That something, was that there was a visually impaired person coming onto the bus at one of the stops.
I was thinking that there was something about the combination of public transport and visually impaired person, I thought a bit more and then I realized -

That was when I was taking the LRT, which is a type of public transport in Malaysia, towards my school.

The biggest station in Malaysia must be KL Sentral. It is a crossroad for LRT, KTM, Long-distance busses, and long-distance high speed rails.

in the crowded station, standing there was a visually impaired person. I was observing what he was going to do, but he didn't move for about 30 seconds, so I thought maybe he wants to go somewhere, though I also thought I may be a big busybody by asking. But in the end, I plucked up the courage and asked him.

I asked him - "Sir, are you looking to go somewhere?" to which he replied "No, I should be at the right place..." and I thought to myself, okay, maybe I WAS a nosy busybody.
That was when someone else called out "You're there huh?" and when I turned around, there was another visually impaired person standing there.

the first visually impaired person broke into a smile, walked towards each other, shook hands, and walked away hand in hand.

From that incident, it made me think that just how difficult would be for a visually impaired person to meet up, and if they ever tried meeting up in a big open place like this, and end up being unable to meet.
And although I was a bit of a busybody, it would be nice if I had shortened the time it took for them to meet up.

After that, I took some time to find out how we should help a visually impaired person more effectively, and I found this website. - http://home.c00.itscom.net/t2oho4no/fukusitaiken/yuudou/yuudou.htm which was very educational.

To be a busybody and actively go talk to someone is actually mentally straining, but I have been fortunate enough to be surrounded by nice people (strangers included), so naturally, it lead me to hope to be someone who would be a help to the society.

I was thinking I could kill some time by writing this entry, but there's still 3 hours till boarding. time to study!

自己紹介

はじめましてこんにちは。

僕はマレーシアで人生の大部分を過ごし、マレーシアの大学を卒業（医学部）そして第二の学部に入り（中医学部）、これから上海にて中医学の基礎を学んでいこうという者です。
同時進行で日本の医師国家試験予備試験に挑戦しています。（書類審査は済ましました）

医学卒業から直接中医学を学ぶのは珍しいので新聞に載りました


今年から上海で学生生活を送る中、もし出来る事なら自分の体験を通して何らかの形で誰かの役に立てる情報をアウトプットしていけると良いな！と、上海に留学する前からブログを立ち上げてみました。

僕が単位移行する形で転入（マレーシアの大学には3年間在学していました）するのは、上海中医大学という大学で、24日に入学手続きを済ませる予定です。

マレーシアでの大学IMU（International Medical University)では、中医学を英語で学びました。
英語で学ぶと言っても、テキストの本などは中国語の本をメインに、英中バイリンガル本を元に英語でコミュニケーションを取りながら、学んでゆくスタイルでした。

上海中医大学に編入するには、マレーシアの大学でのある程度の成績と中国語検定であるHSK（汉语水平考试）で最低でも4級が必要なので、マレーシアで取っておきました。マレーシアには中華系の友達と共に中医学を学ぶので、中国語を学ぶ機会は有り余ってあるので幸運でした。

僕の語学的な背景として、
STEP　　英語検定1級合格（1６歳の頃）
TOEIC　９９０点
TOEFL（IBT）１１０点
HSK　4級　２２６／３００
JPLT　N1　１８０／１８０
マレー語　日常会話・患者と問診可能レベル

これらは自慢に見えるかもしれませんが、マレーシアでは語学学習の機会が存分にあり、両親の弛まぬサポートと後ろ盾があって初めて出来たものです。加え、マレーシアでは３・4ヶ国語出来るというのが至極普通の事なのです。

しかし、語学学習に関しては自分なりに色々と工夫を凝らしているので、後々色々書いていきたいと思っています。

趣味は剣道、水泳、ボルダリング、武術全般。

健康に関するものなら何でも興味が有ります。これから色々と勉強出来る事が沢山あるに違いないので、胸を躍らせています。
学びの中、沢山の友人も作れるので本当に有り難い事ですね。

Greetings! and welcome to my humble blog.

I am someone who have spent most of my life so far in Malaysia, graduated from a Malaysian Medical university (MBBS), and currently on my second degree (Chinese Medicine) - as of now, I am in Shanghai, learning about the basics of Chinese Medicine.
Simultaneous, I am ambitiously trying to get my Medical Licensing exam in Japan done. I'm at the stage where I've done my documentations for the preliminary exam.

I have been put on the local papers for my unique choice of educational career (first picture)

Since I will be starting my new life in Shanghai, China, I was thinking that I could output some kind of information so that hopefully it would benefit someone - so the presence of this blog.

The university that I would be transferring from Malaysia (after studying for 3 years) is called SHUTCM - Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine- and I am planning to have registered by the 24th of this month.

in my Malaysian university (International Medical University), I have learnt Chinese Medicine through English language (which makes my uni quite unique!)
Though the medium is English, the reference books and most of the contents are originally in Chinese. so I have used bilingual books as a reference while learning with a mixture of Chinese and English.

For me to enter into the SHUTCM, I have had to take a proof that I can in fact communicate in Chinese, by taking an exam called HSK - HanYuShuiPingKaoShi (Chinese Language Standard Exam) and pass at least level 4 in that - so I took it in Malaysia. I was lucky, because I learnt chinese medicine with my chinese friends in Malaysia, so I was blessed with a lot of opportunities to learn Chinese language.

Here is my linguistic background - for reference.
STEP English Profeciency Exam Eiken - 1st grade pass when I was 16
TOEIC - 990
TOEFL IBT - 110
HSK grade 4 - pass (226/300)
JPLT (Japanese Language Proficiency Test) - N1 pass (180/180)
Malay - everyday conversation

I may look like I am bragging, but in my defence... I really owe them all to the opportunities I have had thanks to Malaysia as a country with multiple languages, not to mention the limitless support my parents have given me.
Furthermore, it is pretty normal in Malaysia, to be tri-lingual or quadri-lingual.

however I do have some things that I do - in order to learn languages effectively... so I'd like to digress further in the near future.

My hobbies include but not limited to - Kendo, Swimming, Bouldering, Martial Arts.

You may have guessed from the choice of my degrees, that I am fascinated about health and the functions of human being.
I know that I have plenty to learn, so I can't wait to explore this vast world of health.
I am also thankful that I could make many friends through learning.
