Before you begin activating your new Cox equipment, keep the following ready:
• User ID and Password for the account.
• Account Number and Cox PIN or the last 4 digits of the Social Security Number (SSN) of the account holder.
• Service Address and Cox PIN or the last 4 digits of the SSN of the account holder.
Once you have got the above-mentioned information ready, you can follow these steps to activate your Cox equipment.
For Activating Your New Internet or Phone Modem
• Once you have connected all the cable and power cords to the appropriate device and outlets, power on the device and wait for at least 15 minutes to let the initial boot get completed.
• Now, if you don’t have a retail modem supplied by Cox, you can find the Serial number and Retail MAC address on your modem.
• Now, you will need to go to the www.cox.com/activate page on your browser and look for your account using Service Address / Account Number / Cox User ID.
• Then, click on the Next button, complete the required information, and again click on the Next button to get access to your account.
• After that, simply follow the on-screen instructions to complete the setup process.
For Activating Your New Receiver
• To begin with, connect the coax cable of your kit from the wall to the back of the receiver.
• Next, connect the HDMI cable (blue end) to the back of the receiver and the other end to the TV.
• Then, you will need to connect the power cord and power on your TV and receiver. After that, go to the correct HDMI connection using the TV remote and follow the on-screen instructions for the activation process.
• Now, to activate your device, go to the www.cox.com/activate page on your browser and look for your account using Service Address / Account Number / Cox User ID.
• Then, click on the Next button, complete the required information, and again click on the Next button to get access to your account.
• After that, simply follow the on-screen instructions to complete the setup process.
