例えば、証券会社の引受部門と営業部門に設けられる情報障壁のことをチャイニーズウォールと呼ぶ。
これは、非公開情報を知りうる立場にいる引受部門と営業部門の情報共有がされてしまうと、インサイダー取引に使用されているとみなされかねないことに対応したもので、証券界の自主ルールである。
