チャイニーズウォール Chinese Wall

チャイニーズウォールとは、本来「万里の長城」の意味だが、これが転用されて同一企業内の部門間に設けられる情報障壁を意味する言葉として使用されている。
例えば、証券会社の引受部門と営業部門に設けられる情報障壁のことをチャイニーズウォールと呼ぶ。
これは、非公開情報を知りうる立場にいる引受部門と営業部門の情報共有がされてしまうと、インサイダー取引に使用されているとみなされかねないことに対応したもので、証券界の自主ルールである。

チャイニーズウォールについては、証券会社の自主ルールである「内部者取引管理規則」において具体的な内容が定められている。
