(The original blog in Japanese is here. 「小さな応援歌」)
There seem to be two types of low-level participants in harassment.
The first type are people who are used to harassing others, who do it professionally, but who seem to have personality problems. They may not be very socially fortunate. They have an arrogant and brazen attitude, and they are always grinning. They probably enjoy harassing others.
The second type seems to be an ordinary cult member. They are not very good at harassment, and seem to feel guilty about doing something bad, even if it is for the cult. They rarely make eye contact. If they do look at you, they look away when you look back. They seem to be good and good people.
The former are probably receiving some kind of compensation for the harassment. The latter are probably working for free. They are just participating in the harassment a little. They don't seem to have any idea of the big picture of what they are doing.
If the participants are all unpaid workers, I think, "They probably can't afford it." If the first type of people are used, they will likely do unnecessary things and cause problems. I think that when these types of people are used, accidents and crimes occur frequently in the area. That's why I think the perpetrators don't want to use them very much. It's also troublesome for the users. (See article "Suspicious Police")
Looking at the harassment I'm currently receiving, it doesn't seem like they have much financial leeway. There are a lot of amateurs. I think the cult members are working for free. Or the "Nagara-zoku" who do it on the side of their jobs. The thug-like people and people with certain characteristics that I used to see often are no longer seen. The number of out-of-town license plates has also decreased dramatically.
Perhaps because of this, there used to be a strange number of car accidents in the local news, but now there are none.
