EY's Indonesian firm fined and censured

米国の上場会社監査を監督しているPCAOBが、KAP Purwantono, Suherman & Surja, というEYのインドネシア事務所に１百万ドルの罰金を課したという記事。監査不備、検査への非協力、品質管理基準違反が指摘されています。

The US Public Company Accounting Oversight Board has censured EY’s Indonesian member firm and fined it $1m (£0.798m) for audit failure, non-cooperation and violations of its quality control standards

EYの元パートナー2人にも処分が下されています。1人は、PCAOB登録上場会社監査事務所への関与の禁止5年間、もう１人はエンゲージメント・パートナーなどに就くことの禁止1年間です。それぞれ、2万ドルと1万ドルの罰金も課せられています。

The audit watchdog has also fined two former EY partners, barring one of them from associating with a PCAOB-registered public accounting firm for five years, and restricting the other from serving as an engagement partner, an engagement review partner or a professional practice director, for a year.

米国で上場しているインドネシアの通信会社の2011年の監査が問題になっています。EY内の審査（米国EY所属のパートナーが担当）で、電波塔の土地の賃借契約4千件超の会計処理に関する監査証拠が不十分であると指摘されたのに、無視して監査報告書を出してしまったこと、2012年のPCAOBの検査前に、不適切に新しい調書を作成して検査官に提供したことなどを指摘されています。
