New Sakai River Bank ( 新境川堤）/ The shinsakai River was built up in the nineteen thirties in order to prevent floods. Today ,this site is one of the most famous spots to view cherry blossoms in Japan. During World War Two,almost all of the trees were burned down due to air raids.
