ランプには♂♀あり。なめねこブーム直前に書き上げた短編です。
長男手塚眞が８ｍｍ片手に映画製作にのめりこみだした頃とあって内容は映画ファン
泣かせな箇所があちらこちらに。ちなみに『マコとルミとチイ 』のマコは眞、ルミはプラン
ニングプロデューサー・地球環境活動家の手塚るみ子がモデルとされています。
舞台は今から2000年前の中東から魔人ランプの精の力を借りて現代日本の高田馬場へ。
そこで暮らすちょっとイカれた予備校生・陣内と時空を超えてやってきた謎の少女の
逃亡劇。少女はランプの精♀、なのですが陣内はこの娘を敵が追う"ルンペネラ姫"
と勘違い。そうこうして話は後半、本物の姫は隠れていたランプの中から姿を現し
ますが、ヤンマガというカテゴリーだけに表現がマンガチックに露骨。
飛ぶミサイルなんか、アレになっちゃいますから。
スターウォーズ、ローマの休日、未知との遭遇など有名どころばもちろんながら
ジョンカーペンター、デニス・ホッパーなどなど手塚治虫の映画通っぷりを披露した
作品にもなってます。
Jinnai is a prep school student studying for entrance into university. He is so fond of movies that he often plays hooky from school. One day, a beautiful girl dressed in rags comes to live with Jinnai at his apartment house. Jinnai tries to find out who the girl was but he dosen't understand the language she speaks. But it seems that she came from a kingdom in the Middle East and that an assassin is after her. The fact was that she was none other than the "spirit of a lamp" who had escaped a coup d'etat in an Arabian country 2,000 years ago and throught magical powers, had come to Japan in the 20th century. She had concealed in a lamp the princess Lumpenela who also was the target of a team of assassins who had been pursuing her from a world 2,000 years ago. Jinnai helps the spirit of the lamp in annihilating the assassins who could not adapt to their new environment in Japan which was overflowing with the cream of science and civilization. The princess returns to her native kingdom while Jinnai and the spirit of the lamp live happily ever after.
