（２９） it goes without saying that... 言うまでもない
直 訳 言わないで行く
意 味 分りきったことである
日本語の「言うまでもない」がこれに対応する。英語の「it is needless to say that」、「not to speak of」、「to say nothing of」、日本語の「言わずもがな」もこれに近い意を持つ。「わかりきったこと」を「言わないでも誰もが理解できる」とした点で両者の表現がほぼ一致している。
例 文
