今回公表されたのは、2009年に大量の天然ガスが埋蔵されてることが発覚した Haifa 沖の Tamar （という採掘塔には Leviathan-1 という名前が付けられている）というガス田（？）の推定埋蔵量。
この開発計画は、イスラエルのDelek Group と Ratio Oil Exploration、そして米国の Noble Energy によるものだとか。
で、推定埋蔵量を公表した Noble Energy は、この件について誇らしげに語っていた。
当然、イスラエルの今後についても・・・。

要は、イスラエルが新たな（強力な）外貨獲得手段を得ることを意味するわけか。
裏を返せば、イスラエルへの BDS運動（Boycott, Divestment and Sanction）にとって痛い一撃になる可能性を秘めてるのよね。
