Qlogicが PathScaleを買収 [06/02/16]

AMD Opteron向けコンパイラや、HyperTransportの外部拡張インターフェイス規格：HTXを採用した
InfiniBandカードを発売している PathScaleが、FC HBAで有名な QLogicに買収されることになりました：

　 Pursuant to the terms of the agreement, the Company will pay approximately $109 million

　 expected to close in early April following the satisfaction of customary closing conditions."


とっても気になるのは、PathScale社のコンパイラです。
優秀なコンパイラ技術者が集まっているはずです(確か、技術トップは MIPSコンパイラ開発者)
コンパイラ販売の方が InfiBandインタフェースカード販売より先でした。
思い切って、AMD社さんがこの部隊を丸ごと買い取らないかなぁ。。。
