マリア・シャラポワはスベトラーナ・クズネツォワにストレート負け(2-6,2-6)した。
もう1試合はセリーナ・ウィリアムスがベラ・ズボナレワをやはりストレートで破って決勝に進出。
ウィンブルドンの覇者とUSオープンのチャンピオンの対決となったシャラポワvs.クズネツォワ。
第1セット、クズネツォワのサービスゲームをシャラポワがいきなりブレイクして始まり、
直後の自分のサービスゲームもキープして2-0とリードした。
しかし強風の影響もあったのか、シャラポワはサーブの調子が悪く
その後はクズネツォワが6ゲーム連取して第1セットを取った。
第2セットになってもシャラポワの調子は上がらず

「最初に2ゲーム取ってすごく有利だったのに、彼女がよすぎたわ。
もちろん他にもいろんな理由があると思う。彼女はすごくいいテニスをしたのに、私はできなかったし。
彼女はすごく集中できてたいたし。
残念ながら毎日ベストのテニスができるわけではないし、今日の私はよくなかったわ。
ミスもあったけど、とにかく先に進まないといけない。」
2.ウィンブルドンの優勝後の記者会見で中国製の携帯電話のことを話したよね？
「ええ、携帯に中国語が書いてあって。どうやったら切れるのかよくわからなくて
いくつかボタンを押したんだけど、それでも切れなくて。
中国語だから今でもわかんないわ。」
3.しばらくロシアには帰ってないと思うんだけど、もうロシアとのつながりを感じないから？

「とにかく自信の問題ね。
例えば前の週に優勝したりしてとても調子がいいときは、みんな自信をもってプレイできる。
10分もプレイすれば相手にそれがあるのはわかったけど、私には今日はなかった。
サーブが悪くて、もっと練習しなくちゃいけないわね、でもそのせいで
自信を持ってプレイできなくて。」
5.今日は完敗だったと思うけど、どう思う？
「その質問にはもう答えたと思うけど・・・。とにかく今日は私の日じゃなかったということ。
私のテニスができなかったし、彼女は先週も優勝してて、すごく自信を持ってプレイしていたと思う。」
6.どの辺りをもっと向上させたい？
「肉体面が1番大事ね。もっとトレーニングしないと。
もちろん一夜にしてそうなれるわけじゃないから、継続してやらないと。
まだ17歳だし、学ぶことはたくさんあると思う。」

それと、プーチン大統領から電話がかかってくると思っていた？

1, how about the match?
Yeah, exactly, I had a great chance to win in the second break, it is just too good on her side. it is a combination of everything. she played great tennis, I didn't. she dedicated, it was very unfortunate, but you can't go out and play best everyday,i was not good today. She knows it was important. I've got mistakes but had to move on.
2. You made some comments on the mobile you used at the Wimbledon.
It is just Chinese language written on it, I didn't know the language. I did not know how to turn it off. So I turned it on and off, I pressed some buttons, it was still on. As it was still Chinese, I don't know.
3. You haven't been back to Russia, do you feel connected to your country anymore? will you play at Kreminlin Open soon?
Right now it looks like I am playing Asian tours cause I made my schedule last year so it is not on the schedule. You know I just stay put in my career. I definitely want to go back. Hopefully when the season is over I can go back and play there.
4. What was about your performance today?
I think really the confidence. I mean you know when somebody has played so well, while coming from a win last week. Basically the person has sort of good play and has so much confidence, then the person goes out in the 10 minutes, I know what it was like, i know that after the move, i have not got that confidence, the greatest thing, it was so great, but after a while, you figured out in my career there are still a lot to, I work on, since i am only 17 i have a lot to grab on,my disadvantage was I have to practice on serves, I stared to learn a lot more things, my confidence was just destroyed and it really showed today too parts on the court, she did very hard on each side,I can not equal on such parts.
5. You lost easily, what is your comment on your performance today?
Basically I have answered that question, you know it was not really my day, it was not really my game, she is my major, she was just coming from a title, how much confidence she has.
6. Which aspect do you want to improve yourself?
Physically part is the most important. I have to work out a lot. But these things don't happen over night, i have to work on it. I am only 17. Therer are still a lot to learn.
7.How do you evaluate your performance after you won the Winbeldom? also did you expect a call from President Putin?
The first question, you know when somebody played with so much confidence,there is really not much you can do. she went out, she was a better player. I am working on. As I said before after Winbledon, there are a lot of things i have to work on. All of sudden I think to myself that I am going to be great.
