The horrific attack at the Charlie Hebdo office on January 7, 2015, led to the death of 12 people, including two policemen. Nothing can justify such an attack and those who organised and committed these crimes should be brought to justice, Human Rights Watch said. France should protect freedom of expression and guard against any backlash against particular groups.

フランスの風刺週刊誌「シャルリーエブド」が2015年1月7日に恐ろしいテロの標的とされ、警察官2人を含む12人が殺害された。そのような襲撃は決して正当化されず、そのような犯罪を組織し実行した者を、裁判に掛けなければならない、と本日ヒューマン・ライツ・ウォッチは述べた。フランスは表現の自由を守ると共に、事件への反感から特定グループを保護すべきだ。
