Japanese Traditional Dance WORKSHOP for kids!

Dear all,

We would invite you, especially your kids, to the workshop to learn about Japanese traditional dance, Nihon Buyo on July 24 Sat. 14:00 here at our international center.

Through the workshop, you may enjoy Japanese dance and learn about Japanese etiquette Protocols as well as learn how to dance using Japanese fan, wearing Yukata.

It will be good occasion to learn Japanese culture. For parents and adults, just you may observe the workshop, and it will be possible to get in touch with Japanese traditional entertainment!

Date and time: 2:00pm (one hour and half) on Sat. 24 July
Place : Kumamoto City International Center
Applicant : Foreign kids from infants to JH students
But, any can observe the Workshop
Cost : Free

The 18th “Day of the African Child” in Kumamoto

Dear African Friends,

This is to invite you to the 18th “Day of the African Child” in Kumamoto between the 2nd and the 4th of July this year organized by UNICEF Kumamoto. We can accept some African students from each university.

We can provide you with your transportation fee and an accommodation. You would be highly appreciated if you could participate in this event from the 2nd to the 4th consecutively. We also plan to visit Minamata to learn environmental issues and football game with young people in Kumamoto.

Detailed information of the event this year as well as the provisional program are attached.

If you are interested in this event, please apply for participating in it by the 25th of June.

the fryer of the 5th international volunteer workcamp

Now thr fryer of the 5th international volunteer work camp to be held at tha National Aso Youth Friendship Center during Aug. 1- 3 is downloaded from:

Just note that although the participant fee is mentioned as Yen5,000.- on it, the international students belonging to the universities in Kumamoto will be given some spports from the comittee of Kumamoto for promoting exchange activities of the International students.  The details will be advised later.

The 5th International Volunteer Work Camp !

We are pleased to let you know that the 5th International Volunteer Work Camp will take place as follows:

Dates Sun. 1st August - Tue. 3rd August, 2010, two nights and three days
Place National Aso Youth Friendship center (629-1 Miyaji Ichinomiya Aso City)

Participants to be recruited : 100high school students and 50 international students

Participation fee : 5000Yen for high school students (including seven meals and bed, insurance and report)
TBA for international students as some support will be available

Contents

Theme Talks plus .... = SMILING!

The first day
AM 9:30 Buses starts from the Kumamoto City International Center to the venue in Aso directly
AM11:30 Arrive

Lunch

PM Opening ceremony
Key note speech(in panel discussion style)

Work group 1
Seven work groups will be made, and all the participants are requested to join one group.

The third day
*International students will have different program from the following program for the third day, to go to the excursion program to visit Mt. Aso and some place. It's enjoyable and a good chance to get know the nature of beauty in ASO, Kumamoto!
