EY wins Royal Dutch Shell audit

巨大石油会社ロイヤル・ダッチ・シェル（英国では時価総額が最大の会社だそうです）の監査人が交代するという記事。現在はPwCですが、2016年12月期以降はEYが引き継ぎます。（来年からということだと、実際に交代が行われるまでに、少し時間的な余裕があります。株主総会の開催時期の関係なのでしょうか。）

Royal Dutch Shell has announced that it is to replace its current auditor, PwC, with fellow Big Four firm E&Y

The change will be proposed to shareholders at the group’s 2016 AGM with a view to EY taking over as the new auditors for the year ending 31 December 2016 onwards.

EYは、石油ガス業界では、すでにBPなどの監査人であり、今回の決定により同業界におけるシェアがさらに高くなります。

The decision increases EY’s share of the lucrative oil and gas sector. The firm already audits BP and the BG Group in the UK.

PwCが昨年この監査で稼いだ報酬は、54百万ドルだったそうです。

Last year PwC earned $54m (£34.8m) in audit fees for Royal Dutch Shell.

EUの監査人交代制の影響か、監査契約を入札にかける会社が加速度的に増えているそうです。今年はすでに、2014年通年と同じ数の入札が行われています（英国の話）。

The number of audits being put out to tender has accelerated this year. Since the beginning of the year, there have already been as many tenders as in the whole of 2014.
