Hana's bloodwork results have returned. Her creatinine is about the same as prior to hospitalization. Previously it was 3.3 mg/dl and now it is 3.4 mg/dl. Her BUN is better than prior to hospitalization, but higher than when she went home. Prior to hospitalization: 158 mg/dl; After hospitalization: 75 mg/dl; Now: 121 mg/dl. Her phosphorous is also slightly more elevated at 9.9 mg/dl. She may be a candidate for a phosphate binder such as aluminum hydroxide. This will help her phosphorous and potentially her calcium, but will not do much for her renal values.
I recommend rechecking her values in 3 weeks. Depending on how she is doing at that time, we may discuss other options if available.
