As long as the sensors detect presence in the living the settings defined by the user for thepresence mode shall be applicable both for temperature and lighting. When there is no presence detected in the living room the lights are shut off after a user defined number of seconds. When nobody is detected in the living the system will change the temperature in the living. As soon as persons enter the room the Energy Conservation Controller will activate lighting right away and when it appears that the room is occupied for a prolonged time the Energy Conservation Controller will activate the cooling or heating.
Bed rooms
Most domotics designers tend to forget about the important function of bed rooms. User control is of significant importance in this case. Domotics systems should have the ability to let the homeowner control the way to deal with the exceptions to the standard procedures in a very user friendly manner. A properly designed domotic system will allow the user to manually override the settings.
The above examples are to showcase the importance of a good domotics system. Considering the potential energy savings it can be expected that domotics systems are going to play a major role in the future.
