"A kidney specialist was, reassuringly, in our group," Marsden recalls.Dialysis wasn't performed on the liner, which he chose because it allowed patients to have pre-arranged dialysis at ports of call.Adelaide-based Dialysis Abroad, a travel company specialising in holidays for kidney patients, markets tours for four to 40 people, to go on land trips or sea cruises to destinations as diverse as Italy, Japan, Malaysia, Singapore, Bali and Hawaii."Family and friends are encouraged to join," says managing director Nancy Douglas-Irving OAM. "On land trips the maximum is eight having dialysis, 16 on a cruise."She says dialysis is offered in hospitals en route and, sometimes, aboard cruise ships where "we set up temporary dialysis units in two cabins".According to Wendy Marsden, Fabian's wife, "there's plenty to keep me entertained" while her husband has dialysis.
 
 Douglas-Irving and joint managing director Enzo Scipioni themselves needed dialysis for many years before undergoing successful kidney transplants. They identified holidays for dialysis patients as a niche after realising their "passion for travel" wasn't diminished by kidney failure.After customers with allergies contacted David Goldman, director and general manager of Sydney's Goldman Travel Corporation, explaining they didn't want allergic reactions wrecking their holidays, he asked around.Goldman discovered some Hyatt hotels have rooms branded Respire, which are hypoallergenic rooms that "undergo six-step processes to reduce airborne particles and minimise potential irritants" and include air-purification systems.One of Goldman's clients who stayed in one of these rooms advised him that their holiday was "wonderful".Another issue that can arise is that tightened airport security can be a problem for health-related equipment.  Agents advise travellers to keep medication prescriptions handy and to travel with prescribed medication in packaging with chemists' labels.

 Multi-vehicle households to mass transit users will be sought from across the Quad-Cities, from Eldridge in the north, Buffalo and Andalusia on the west, Princeton and Port Byron to the northeast and Colona and Coal Valley to the south and east.About 4,000 households will be contacted for the survey that has phone and travel diary components and, for some, a GPS unit. The notifications will be mailed in Bi-State marked envelopes."Things have changed since the '60s," said Bettendorf Mayor Bob Gallagher, who chairs Bi-State's transportation committee. "People carry computers in their pockets and people travel much differently than they did."The data collected will be used in several ways and also incorporated into the area's long-range transportation plan on file with the U.S. Department of Transportation. That document will be updated in 2016. Information will be confidential and used only for statistical purposes, said Gena McCullough, planning director for Bi-State.A pilot survey in July and August honed the questions in the phone survey and trained interviewers.
 
  The average recruitment survey takes less than 15 minutes and a follow-up interview is expected to last less than eight minutes.The survey seeks data such as number in household, number of drivers and vehicles for that household, mode of travel, origin and destination, and trip purpose. A travel diary will require participants to track destinations, activity at the destination, times of arrival and departure and number of people involved in the trip.Bi-State has used travel behavior data gleaned from Des Moines in recent modeling but is recognizing the shortcomings of that data, particularly because it doesn't include cross-river travel. That is important in the Quad-Cities because about 15,000 Scott County residents work on the Illinois side of the river and the same number of Rock Island County residents are estimated to cross to Iowa for work.Getting responses so the survey provides good data is important, so people shouldn't discard a letter with the Bi-State logo on it, informing them that a representative of ETC Institute will call them within a few days."We don't want people throwing out the survey thinking it is junk mail," McCullough said.

She is expected to get more than seven years in prison.The toddler's death was ruled a homicide by the Minnesota Regional Medical Examiner's Office in late April.Sheriff Rich Stanek, of Hennepin County, said the child suffered multiple broken bones, hemorrhages and cigarette burns.Police determined the baby was Foster's. She was staying at the home with her boyfriend, identified as Todd, plus his mother, stepfather and Todd's 11 siblings.An investigation revealed the home where the 18-month-old, Cottrell Short, was staying contained garbage, rotting food, several animals, dead animals, animal waste and had "otherwise filthy conditions," according to the charges.
Todd told police he was watching Short in the days before his death, after Foster left for a couple of days. Todd said the boy vomited on Feb. 9 and didn't eat or drink anything after that. He said on Feb. 10, Short had a temperature of 102.6 and was crying all day.

Todd told police he gave the child Tylenol fever reducer and called Foster to come home. Sometime on the evening of Feb. 10, Todd said he left the house to go to the store and left Short sleeping without supervision.He admitted to police he smoked marijuana that night before returning home. When Foster came home that night, she found Short not breathing. Someone else in the home then called 911.Short died the next day at the Ridgeview Hospital in Waconia.The Medical Examiner said Short's death was a result of many causes, including sepsis from a burn, hemoperitoneum, peritonitis, abdominal and head injuries (including skull fracture and hemorrhages). The injuries were due to neglect and multiple debilitating injuries of varying ages."This young boy simply didn't deserve to die," Hennepin County Attorney Mike Freeman said. "Ms. Foster and Mr. Todd have received considerable punishment for their role in taking this youngster's life. Although justice was accomplished, we are still saddened by the loss of this innocent life."

But for more distant onlookers, this is unlikely to be a series to remember.Post-Trent Bridge, the cricket became ever-more monochrome. In part, this was because the playing surfaces were so similar.   The ref called several fouls and kept the game under control, with no cards out.The first 15 minutes of the second half had no real chances on goal for either team, but on 60 minutes the deadlock was broken.Scott Graham picked up the ball in attacking midfield and played a short pass back to August on half way, who had a touch before hitting a pass down the line for Graham to run onto.He took his defender on towards the corner before hitting the ball in towards the centre.The defence were first to act to clear the ball, only for McFee to block the clearance with the ball flying high across the box to Ragazzo who hit a superb first time volley low into the bottom right of the net to make it three goals in three games, 0-1 United.United's tails were up and they continued to take the game on in hard conditions and Uni had no answers again with having a couple long range chances.On 75 minutes United should have gone two ahead when another long throw in from August was knocked on to the back post on a skinny pitch, with Kane Oppelaar reacted first hitting the ball passed the keeper with the ball appearing to be going in, Graham made sure of it knocking it in from the line only for the ref to disallow the goal for Graham being offside.
 
  United argued as although it appeared to be going in Graham was not offside as he came from behind the defender.The next 10 minutes were hotly contested with Uni making two changes to try to get back in the game.But United were solid at the back all day long with no mistakes or sloppy goals being given.On 80 minutes United again went close when August and Ragazzo combined in the box for Ragazzo to hit a shot which the keeper parried away and August was against his defender to make the ball first with the defender dragging August down with the ref calling play on.The result was confirmed on 87 minutes when another August long throw was knocked on to the back post with Graham putting the tap in away and making the final result 0-2 for United.The players celebrated a hard-fought win away from home to climb back into top three contention.Not to mention the clean sheet also, which is a congratulations to the defence unit.Best for United were McFee, Whitehead, Kane Oppelaar and Graham.
