Love SJP, Hate this Designer

Everyone who knows me knows I love my SJP. She is one of my style icons and I usually love everything the mother of three wears... until now.I dont know if Prabal Gurung is an up and coming designer or an already established one, but whatever Gurung is I am not feeling it. This pic from Instyle.com is killing me! First of all, the first dress, left, looked cute at first but the distracting rose garden on her halter top takes the dress down a notch. It is supposed to be a designer dress but the ugly pop of pink makes it look like a cheap dress you would find at Wet Seal.

The pink and red ensemble with the white shoes is just awful. I like pink and red together but not like this. The black, white, and red dress is a pretty pattern but matronly and SJP isn't supposed to be matronly! The best part about this outfit are the two toned heels. And as for the white and purple cocktail dress, it makes her look like a drag queen in metallic armor.I'm just not impressed with designer Prabal Gurung. I'd love to change my view and be on board with what Gurung is putting out there, but so far Gurung has taken one of Hollywood's most beloved fashion icons and made her frumpy.
