Journal of a "Bride" in New York

I write my daily experiences outside Japan.

A visitor from Mongolia

2011-04-17 | 日記
A Mongolian Sara joined us in our worship service today.

She had come to Japan to visit her sister working in Nagasaki.
She came to believe Jesus Christ in TLCCC Nagasaki Church.
Then she heard in that church that a Christian camp would be held in LA
including a seminar delivered by Pastor Merlin Carothers
who was the author of the best seller book“Prison to Praise.”
She decided to attend it.

After the camp, she went to her sister's in New Jersey
who had been transferred there because of her work.
So Sara came near us.

Somebody who had attended the camp told us
that she would come near us
and that she wanted to be baptized.

As we talked with her on the phone, she told us
that she was thinking of getting water baptism
after she returned Mongolia.
However, on Sunday when we went to pick her up,
we learned that she had a strong desire to get baptized in the U.S.
She had extra clothes with her
in case she might be immersed in water.

So, all of a sudden, we decided to have a baptismal ceremony for Sara on the very Sunday.
She had visited TLCCC churches in Nagasaki and in LA, and came to TLCCC NY church.

We were all joyful to have her baptized in our church.
Thank God for this special blessing.
She was leaving the U.S. for Mongolia on April 29th.
