Transmission Repair Is Vital to Vehicle Performance

2017-09-27 09:37:14 | 日記

When you take your vehicle in for inspection, you never want to hear news that something is wrong with your transmission. While there are some transmission problems that are small and easy to fix, the majority of them are major and costly. With that said, they are necessary to the functionality of your vehicle and the safety of your passengers. Let's take a closer look at what the transmission does to help you better understand why transmission repairs are essential to the functionality of your vehicle.
To put things simply, a transmission is connected to the back of the engine and is used to send power from the engine to the drive wheels. All vehicles run best at a particular RPM range. It is the job of the transmission to ensure that the engine stays within this range, while at the same time delivering power to the wheels. It is the transmission that allows your vehicle to switch from drive, to reverse, to park, to neutral. Without a transmission, your vehicle would be limited to one gear ratio that would have to be selected to drive at a desired top speed.
The transmission is an extremely complex vehicle component and is only understood by those with extensive training and education in mechanics autel maxidas ds808. With that said, it is essential for your vehicle to function properly. There are several things that can go wrong with your transmission, the most common being low fluid levels. Luckily, these are easy to spot and easy to fix autel maxisys ms906. Other components that may require repair include the bell housing unit, the gears, and the filter. If problems are more severe, you may need to replace or build the entire transmission unit.
So why are transmission repairs so important? If something is wrong with your transmission, the handling of your vehicle will be affected. In less severe cases, you may experience vibrations while driving. In more serious cases, you could experience gear slipping where the engine revs but the vehicle does not accelerate as it is supposed to. This can be extremely dangerous, especially if it occurs while you are driving.
In most cases, your vehicle will let you know when something is wrong with the transmission. With that said, there are some cases where the symptoms are less obvious. This is why it is important to bring your vehicle into a mechanic shop for regular transmission checkups. Most importantly, you will want to have your fluid levels and conditions checked regularly. Low fluid levels could be a sign of a leak and are an issue that you will want to have handled immediately. You should also bring your vehicle in for regular checkups so that you can catch problematic components before they become dangerous.

Tracking Shipping Containers

2017-09-15 10:29:22 | 日記

Security is something that is present in every aspect of our daily life, from locking our front door to being searched at an airport check in, and it is not always a precise science. If you build a large wall around your house you may be able to keep out the opportunist intruder, however to the professional thief you are advertising that there may be something of value behind the wall and this itself may draw unwelcome attention. If you install an intruder alarm in your home are you going to deflect an attack or make a burglar think there are valuables being protected? The situation in every case has to be assessed and the appropriate security deployed Autel MaxiTPMS PAD. Where asset tracking is required, it is always advisable that the tracking units are concealed to prevent them from being disabled or draw unwanted attention. It is extremely important that a container with a tracking system installed should look no different from the container that has a low value cargo such as waste paper. Security products that are overtly fitted to the container doors (or any external surface) unfortunately make it easy for criminals to identify the containers that have a valuable cargo.

Theft and Fraud from shipping containers was estimated to be in excess of $185 billion USD in 2007, and with some consignments having a value of over $20 million USD this figure is quite believable. There is also concern that terrorists have used shipping containers in the past and will no doubt use them in the future to move weapons and explosives around the globe Autel MaxiDiag MD808.

Pear Track Systems Ltd manufactures a covert container tracking system with a 10 year battery life, specifically designed for shipping containers. This system uses The Global Positioning System GPS to locate the container and then transmits the location information using the Global System for Mobile communication (GSM). Battery life of the PT-1000 has been optimised for the normal service life of a typical shipping container (10 years) and is able to send multiple position reports every day for the entire life cycle. The unit can also be fitted with a movement sensor so if the container is place on trailer or moved to another part of the port the device will wake up and give alert information and more frequent position reports. The system also has a capability to send an alert message when the container doors are opened, providing geocoded proof of delivery information to the consignee, along with the comfort of knowing that the shipment has reached its destination, and that there has been no unauthorised opening of the container doors.

The alerts can be sent by the web-based system via e-mail and Short Messaging Service (SMS) to the user's mobile phone. The user can then view the position of the container and the nature of the alert. The system allows users to find the position of the Pear Track tracking devices to within a few meters anywhere in the world by using a multiple mapping solutions via our web-based tracking portal. The each user has unique user name and password to access the advanced tracking system; this allows you to find both real-time and historic locations of the unit.

In as little as 30 minutes, the container tacking system can be covertly fitted inside the shipping container, with the GPS and GSM antenna's fitted covertly to the outside of the container, protecting it from damage and prying eyes. If a container does not need to be permanently tracked, we have a magnetically mounted self contained container GPS tracking system, ideal for a temporary asset tracking solution. The GPS/GSM device is covertly fitted on the outside of the container in a few seconds and has a 90 day rechargeable battery, there is an anti tamper facility that will alert the user if the unit is removed. The device can be attached to the container upon dispatch and then retrieved when it reaches its destination. The same unit can then be sent back to the originator to be recharged and reattached to another consignment. The PT-030C is ideal where random containers are used by the shipping agent.

Pear Track is working closely with a company that provides high security containers. The system is capable detecting a hole of only a few millimetre's being made in the wall or roof of the container, this advanced intrusion detection system uses the Pear Track device to signal an alarm and position. The secure container system is capable of detecting both physical breaches and the presence of nuclear material within the container. Many leading industry experts believe nuclear material detection will become mandatory for all shipments entering a USA port.

Pear Track is also working with a manufacture of light weight pallets to develop a secure Unit Load Device (ULD) for air cargo. This will utilise the Pear Track range providing tracking for very high value air cargo such as diamond shipments. The airline industry's definition of high value cargo is a shipment in excess of $15 million dollars. The new ULD will not only be extremely light which is critical for air cargo, it will have a facility for authorised personnel to temporarily deactivate the tracking unit before loading the ULD into the hold of an aircraft.

Another version of the 10 year tracking product is the Pear Track trailer tracking system for use on road trailers and rail rolling stock. This unit uses the same long life battery technology and can send an alert if the trailer or rail wagon / van (box car) is hitched or moved. All permanently fitted units report the ambient temperature inside the container or trailer and actively monitor the battery condition. An imaginary perimeter called a geo-fence can be set from 100 meters to 1km around the units via the Pear Track web portal; this will send an alert if the unit travels outside the selected geofence. The reporting intervals can also be remotely configured from the Pear Track web portal and an activity report can either be viewed on maps or downloaded in text form giving time, date, location, and temperature of the asset along with any alerts that were active at that time.

Pear Track offers a complete range of battery powered GPS tracking products, from the 10 year PT-1000 to a small personal match box size product called the MiniTrack. The MiniTrack has a 30 day rechargeable battery and can be carried by lone workers or security personnel; it can even be fitted to search and rescue dogs. The Pear Track range also included compact pallet tracking devices with a 1 to 2 year battery life and both 5 and 7 year products that are typically used for tracking a variety of non-powered and powered assets, including trailers, portable buildings and plant.

Although Pear Track Systems Ltd is a new company it has a long history in GPS tracking and communication systems. Pear Track was formed by Paul Burke and John Macey the originators of Minorplanet Ltd that went on to become one of the principle GPS tracking companies in the World, and to this day is regarded by many as the market leader in Vehicle tracking systems with many thousands of units operating globally. The GPS vehicle tracking industry grew rapidly in the early nineties and the Pear Track team was indeed pioneers, being instrumental in the development of the techniques and systems from which many modern GPS tracking systems are still based.

The Pear Track products are designed and manufactured in the UK to exacting standards using state of the art production and quality control facilities. Pear Track products are rigorously tested before leaving the factory, ensuring the highest quality and trouble free service 'out of the box'. As a world leader in long-life battery powered GPS and GSM tracking products, we are continually developing our product base, our R & D team have been developing and producing 'best of class' GPS, communication and security products for over 20 years.

TOW TRUCK OPERATOR KNEW ONE SLIP WOULD KILL WOMAN

2017-09-11 14:35:39 | 日記

Towtruck operator Steve Matchett stands beside the rig that helped save Edyta Tobiasz's life
after a tractor trailer landed on top of her car Monday at the 403 and Dundas St. Matchett's
expertise was of great value during the rescue operation.

FRED LOEK/TORSTAR NEWS SERVICES

For two precarious hours, tow-truck operator Steve Matchett meticulously worked to lift a 14-
tonne tractor-trailer, knowing that one small slip would mean death for the 36-year-old mother of
two trapped underneath.

Adrenalin gripped his body as he weighed the risks in lifting the massive truck that minutes
earlier, had toppled over on Highway 403, crushing Edyta Tobiasz’s car.
Trucker charged in rollover that trapped woman in car

Matchett was just one of dozens of emergency workers â€" including police, firefighters and EMS
personnel â€" involved in the dramatic rescue effort Monday that saw Tobiasz emerge smiling,
and almost without a scratch, something her family is calling miraculous.

“We were dealing with life or death and it’s in your hands and you don’t want to screw up,”
Matchett said. “I knew I had the capability and the experience, but sometimes bad things
happen.”

Matchett thought he’d be performing recovery work â€" the opposite of a rescue â€" when he first
saw the crash scene. But the Oakville Fire platoon chief told him a woman sat trapped in the
crumpled car, alive. They needed Matchett’s big rig and his expertise to help save her.
So he tore off to grab the truck from Lyons Auto Body, all the while choreographing the rescue
effort in his mind.

The tractor trailer that weighed nearly 14,000 kilograms lay precariously on top of Tobiasz’s car
in a deep ditch, but the ground was too wet and soft, which meant he needed to extend the boom
while parked on the road.

Matchett wrapped two straps, strong enough to hold 23,000 kilograms each, underneath the
trailer, over the hood of the car and back up the other side to the boom.
Then Matchett snuck underneath the wreck to speak to Tobiasz.
“You’re going to hear some noise, but that’s us lifting this off you so we can get you out,”
Matchett recalled telling her. She laughed, nervously.

Matchett was also nervous, but felt confident because a few years earlier he lifted a fire truck off
a car with a woman trapped inside. She broke her pelvis, but lived.
After the quick chat with Tobiasz, Matchett removed himself to the ditch and began lifting the
truck with the remote control. One of the senior firefighters stood by with an air horn, which
would go off if work had to be stopped instantly.

Matchett, 56, understood the risks from his 35 years on the job. The trailer could collapse under
its own weight as it was lifted. A small shift in any direction could kill Tobiasz. That meant the
trailer needed to be pulled straight up.

The lift was slow â€" it took an hour to raise the trailer one metre â€" and firefighters would
periodically dive underneath to add chunks of wood to a series of makeshift pillars that
supported the trailer and to check on Tobiasz.

Then the air horn shattered the strange silence that had descended on the area. Matchett
immediately stopped and examined everything. The straps were secure and the trailer wasn’t
cracking. Everything was fine.

So he lifted again Autel MaxiSys MS906TS. When it was about a metre above the car, Matchett stopped. He didn’t want to
move the trailer anymore.
“We had more than enough room to pull her out,” Matchett said. “So why risk it?”
Then the firefighters went to work, scurrying under the low-hanging trailer to cut the driver’s
side door off before paramedics swooped in and slid Tobiasz onto a spinal board. She had only
minor injuries.

“I thank God for my second life,” Tobiasz said to CTV Toronto on Tuesday, “It is a miracle.”
Matchett was part of a delicately coordinated dance that saved Edyta Tobiasz’s life Autel MaxiDiag MD808, but it had to
be done.
“I’m nobody’s hero for God’s sake,” Matchett said. “You just do what you gotta do when you
gotta do it.”

Top 7 Cars With Best Gas Mileage

2017-09-06 15:12:32 | 日記

When you are on the look out for a new (or even a new one) one of the most important things most people look for now are high MPG vehicles. With gas prices at an all time high and no sign of a drop anytime soon (if ever) cars with best gas mileage are at the top of the list of priorities.

I did some extensive research on the internet to find the top 7 cars with best gas mileage. The first thing that I noticed was that nearly every survey I found gave differing MPG readings, some of these differences where only 1 or 2 MPG but others where as much as 10 MPG. In the list of high MPG vehicles below I have used the most consistent of the research readings.

(Top 7 Cars with Best Gas Mileage)

7) Honda Fit. This is one of many mini sized cars now available on the American market. Although small it is well thought out and gives you some reasonable interior space. Driving around the city you should expect to get 30 MPG and this rises to 36 on the highway Autel MaxiTPMS PAD.

6) Mini Cooper. This is a fun car to drive and is really catching on on the American market. It has achieved cult status in many European countries where it has long been a favourite. It will give you 32 around town and 36 on the open road.

5) Toyota Camry Hybrid. With its 2.4 liter engine you can still expect to get a good 36 MPG for city driving and a little better on longer trips. This is fast becoming a best seller in America.

4) Honda Civic. Very popular in the smaller car range. Surprisingly roomy interior, great handling and excellent safety ratings. This car will give you 36 MPG around the city and a great 44 MPG on the highway.

3) Honda Civic Hybrid. If you like the Civic then you will love the Hybrid. Same excellent build and safety qualities but with a fantastic 48 MPG rising to over 50 MPG on those highway drives Autel Maxisys MS908CV, making this one of the most popular high MPG vehicles.

2) Toyota Prius. Very affordably priced mid-sized car. With its 1.5 liter engine and practical styling this is a nice roomy car. The Prius will give you a whopping 60 MPG around town but is actually less economic on the highway, giving about 51 MPG.

1) Honda Insight. One of the smaller high MPG vehicles but still one of the top cars with best gas mileage. The Insight delivers a great 60 MPG around the city and a fantastic 66 or over on the longer drives, keeping it on the top of the list of cars with best gas mileage.

These then are the top 7 cars with beat gas mileage according to the most popular and accurate surveys that I found. Tire Pressure Gauge

2017-09-01 11:27:06 | 日記

The tire pressure gauge is an apparatus which measures the pressure of tires in a vehicle and helps to maintain the tire pressure of the vehicle. Climatic and weather conditions can alter the pressure up to 15% due to variations in temperature and altitude. Car owner manuals normally do not specify rated pressure as a function of temperature or altitude and it is the user's prerogative to make appropriate measurements Autel MaxiSys Pro. But you are sure to be advised on what tire pressure is to be maintained for your vehicle. Regular maintenance of tire pressure of your car will improve your cars efficiency.

The importance of maintaining the optimal pressure cannot be over emphasized. This is where the efficiency of a pressure gauge comes into play. The accuracy of a mechanical gauge is plus or minus 3 psi. There are gauges with higher accuracy of + or - 1 psi. If you are stickler for accuracy the most accurate pressure gauges should be what you ought to be looking for. There are many types of gauges available to make your choice right from the traditional to the most advanced digital ones. These pressure gauges also come from many different manufacturers giving you more options to choose from.

A tire pressure gauge comprises of a valve matching to a tire valve which facilitates the tire's inner air to be forced through a measuring device that measures and records the total amount of air pressure inside the tire. Whereas the valve type remains constant in type from gauge to gauge, the measuring instrument can vary. Some gauges are the pencil type, while there are digital types which relay the pressure via a digital reading. But inevitably what these pressure gauges provide are a fair idea of what the pressure in a tire is.

In the United States Of America, there is a statutory requirement that all vehicles below ten thousand pounds in weight should have a Tire Pressure Monitoring System installed in the vehicle. Most of the modern car manufacturers now have incorporated built in tire pressure sensors which simultaneously read the tire pressure from within the car. Even the latest generation BMW motorcycles have been fitted with the tire pressure monitoring system autel maxidas ds808. Even so there are many types of vehicles which do not have inbuilt tire sensing facility so all these vehicles still have to depend on tire gauges to monitor the tire pressure of the vehicle.

Maintaining the right pressure helps in improved mileage, longer life of the tires and detection of leaks. Thus there is a lot of importance attached to a small device such as a tire pressure gauge since maintaining optimal pressure in vehicles assumes much significance in respect of the safety of vehicles. The best tire pressure gauge will help you maintain even pressure in each tire which is not possible with average pressure gauge. The uneven wearing of tire is mainly due to improper maintenance of its pressure. Even and proper management of pressure in the tire can be done only with good quality tire pressure gauges.
