U.S. Navy and Marine Corps Are Integrating In Preparation for Pacific Warfare:
The two services are evaluating their ability to operate together and protect vessels in littoral waters.

The U-S-N-S Burlington, a ship owned by the Navy but piloted by a civilian crew, conducted fleet experimentation in Key West, Florida, alongside the U.S. Navy’s 4th Fleet.
During the ship’s week-long testing, the ship “aimed to demonstrate Navy/Marine Corps integration to protect naval assets during expeditionary advanced basing operations (EABO), by evaluating expeditionary systems for force protection and coordinated electronic warfare.”
