Ukrainian citizens should stop fighting against Russian aggression because it is "murder" - we are again dismayed by this assertion by the Asahi Shimbun Newspaper, one of the leading newspapers in Japan.
This assertion means that even if Japan is invaded, the Japanese nation and its people should not fight to protect their own territory and inhabitants.
The UN Charter clearly allows the use of "air, naval, or land forces" to restore international peace or stability of a country when it is disrupted from the outside.
The Asahi Shimbun, however, says that the use of military force for peace is also wrong because it is "killing people".
According to this argument, all European countries invaded by Nazi Germany would also have come under Hitler's rule.
So, the current situation in Ukraine is tantamount to ordering the Ukrainian state and people to come under the rule of Russian President Vladimir Putin.
This is because a sovereign nation should not defend its sovereignty, territory, and people against aggression.
