Ai Otsuka - Neko ni Fusen

After her super-happy Smily song comes this downbeat emo-y song.

I kinda like her dishevelled shorter hair. I'm not entirely sure what's going on in the pv and how it ties in with the lyrics. It looks like she might be a homeless person that has an out-of-body experience. She gets followed around by some CG cats and she sheds a crystal tear that grows into a giant balloon plant. The cats float away on the balloons and she returns to her body, but her body goes limp. Did she die?

Haromoni Skit June 26th 2005

This episode is pretty good - it starts off well but seems to lose it at the end. Risa is training the volleyball players, Erika and Yui. When they're showing off their moves, Yui's breasts get squeezed together They make a sound like.. two balloons being squeeked together?

Then Maki-Penguin and Miki play around and it's so cute! When Maki gets exhausted she takes a rest on the trick-bench, she falls off and cries!

Finally it's the scary Sachiko-ghost family thing - I've never liked these characters. For some reason Kei really annoys me. But Kaori was surprisingly creepy when she suddenly started smiling at the end

I made a close-up screencap of the ugliest member XD They're dancing in some shallow water and as the video progresses you can see where it's soaked up their trousers - I couldn't help thinking how uncomfortable it must have been to dance with wet trousers XD

This episode is much funnier IMO.

Miki plays a pathetic loser with giant glasses that gets bullied by the Blonde Takahashi and Reina. Miki only has the courage to talk back when they've left XD.

Rika and Maki are the super-happy girls that can't stop skipping - even though Maki's foot is broken XD

Yossi and Makoto are the two Kazukos and they do a "Matsuken Kazuko" samba thing XD

Yaguchi Hitori June 7th 2005 - Hilary Swank & Morgan Freeman interview


Mari and Hitori get to meet Hilary Swank and Morgan Freeman :0 (Mari gets to meet lots of hollywood celebrities on this show - I wonder if it had anything to do with her quitting Morning Musume. Her MM duties might have conflicted with the show and she wouldn't get to meet so many stars - it's just a theory.)

Hilary and Morgan are pretty good sports - Mari and Hitori practice their english on them, but H & M also get to show-off their Japanese skills (or lack-of I should say XD). Morgan knows quite a bit of Japanese but Hilary... Anyway, it's all very cringe-worthy - especially the very end when they're playing with the fans XD Morgan, put it down before I lose my respect for you!

I'm quite late with the updates this week. I usually update about twice a week but my computer's power supply broke. By the time I got it fixed I thought maybe I should wait until this week's haromoni episode to upload the skit - but there wasn't a skit this week because it was the shuffle special >_<

This year's Pop Jam shuffle performances! Look out for Ayumi's snazzy dance move XD

I remember when i first heard the low quality recording of the Pop Jam performance. There was a lot of commotion at the start of the PPP song - you can hear it during this video too.

I think it's because the show is recorded in advance and there wasn't much promotion for the shuffles at the time of recording, so people might not have heard about it or seen it at all. That's why when PPP appear on stage there's a load of "EH!!!"s when there's a close-up of each member - especially Yuko and Atsuko XD

I first got hooked on Kaela Kimura stuff when Al posted her second song Happiness!!! in one of his sig downloads. Her last song Rella Relha (Real Life Real Heart) was only ok. But this song is one of my favourites off her album - even if the pronunciation is a bit dodgy. This pv is a concert recording.

There wasn't a haromoni skit this week so I went through the episodes to find the most recent one I haven't uploaded and it was way back in March! AND it was Mari's last she might return in the future but who knows...

Anyway, this episode has Sayumi and Mari playing the two Kazuko's pet dogs XD

The dogs act all cute and playful but when Tsuji and Kago try to play with them without the Kazukos around they soon show their true nature XD

I cannot even begin to describe how much this anime sucks and how much I hate it. I downloaded it because Biyuden and Berryz Koubou do the opening and ending songs. I especially hate the character designs and the voices. Journey to the West is one of my favourite stories... It's not subtitled.

Wah! Finally a pv for one of the shuffle songs! I like the dance but the legs-akimbo move is a bit.. eye-opening? Overall, the pv is pretty cheap. I guess all the picture frames and dripping paint is something to do with the "Renoir" in the title.

K - Over...


K is a new korean artist and this is his debut song. It's the ending song for the teen baseball romance drama, H2 ~kimi to ita hibi

I didn't think I'd like a drama about baseball - we don't have baseball in England so I have no clue about the rules and sporting terms - but I am strangely hooked. It's mostly a romance/love triangle story between the highschool baseball jocks and the girls that love them.

It stars quite a few familiar actors... I can't name any of them right this minute er.. Yui Ichikawa is in it! But nearly all of them look way too old to be playing 16 year olds!

I like the song a lot - it's an angsty ballad that suits the drama

Another multi-talented korean artist - she can also play her own piano! It's the ending song for the Bleach anime. Lots of whimsical lyrics like "If I could become a comet I would fly yada, yada..." Reminds me of Mai Hoshimura's Get Happy song. I've only got the subtitled version.

Minna no Terebi June 8th 2005 Wedding Song Medley

Minna no Terebi is fast becoming one of my favourite tv shows - it's got Ayaya, Hinoi Team, Yu Yamada and Rag Fair singing loads of other artists songs accompanied by a live band! It's also got KAT-TUN and Jun Matsumoto.. eh...


This clip from the latest episode is a wedding song medley. It starts off with Ayaya singing in English! But I don't know what the song is! Her pronunciation is pretty dodgy too

* I found out that the song is called Honki de Only You [Let's Get Married] by Maria Takeuchi from the 70s and 80s - if anyone has the mp3 send it to me ^-^

Then Hinoi Team and Yu Yamada sing Namie Amuro's Can You Celebrate - it's nice but I've always had a problem with the lyrics: "We will love long long time!"

A member of KAT-TUN sings Kimi to Itsumademo to some super tall models with hilarious results!

Rag Fair sing SMAP's Sekai ni Hitotsu Dake no Hana - I've never been fond of the song but it's way better than the original IMO

Finally, it's back to Ayaya singing Ureshii! Tanoshii! Daisuki! by Dreams Come True - i really like this rendition

V6 - UTAO-UTAO



I'm not really a fan of V6 - or any Johnny's group for that matter - I just thought someone out there might like this. The story of the pv is about them digging up an old time-capsule they buried 10 years ago or something - sentimental stuff.

I have to mention that one of them has really bad facial hair - I think it's the one that did that curry song with the little kids. Also, the one with the really high voice is going out with Namie Amuro?! say it ain't so!

Haromoni Skit - June 5th 2005



Yay Maki Penguin! It was so cute when she rolled along the ground and the costume got twisted But Miki's "cute" character is so different from her regular persona that I find it quite creepy...

I like Reina more and more every time I see her in the panda costume - she should wear the suit all the time! It's so cute!

Kei and Kaori appear in this episode as the zombie/ghost parents of the ghostly Eri and Rika characters (but Rika isn't in this episode). Even though it's usually funny when they get the giggles, I think it would have been funnier if Kaori could have kept a straight face.

Crystal Kay - Koi ni Ochitara


It's the ending song to the Tsuyoshi Kusanagi (SMAP) drama of the same name, Koi ni Ochitara. It's a really sweet song.

I'm also watching the drama which is pretty good. It's about a man (Kusanagi) that is basically too kind for his own good. He trusts people too much and loses everything when he returns from a holiday in Hawaii with his mother to find that his accountant has stolen all his money. His small factory has to close and his mother suffers a heart attack from the news and dies. He blames himself and believes that if he were rich his mother wouldn't have died. He seeks the advice of a famous millionaire that he met in Hawaii - asking him how to be rich. His answer is that you have to be ruthless and cold-hearted - but Kusanagi is determined to do it his own way.

She's the new soloist from Bishoujo Club 31. It's got a kind of a dramatic rock/pop feel. It's a song about volleyball XD

I would assume it's for Aya Ueto's volleyball drama, Attack No.1 but the only info about the drama i could find lists Aya Ueto's own song, Yume no Chikara as the only theme. I haven't watched the drama so I don't know if this song features in the series.

"My Cousin's a Lesbian" and Other Stories

i found out today that my 32 year old cousin Carmen is a lesbian and has been co-habiting with her lover for over a year

we've been invited to another wedding - my cousin Simon is getting married (he's Carmen's younger brother)

this time i want to go - I haven't been to London for so long! but it's so far away!


i don't know any of my extended family AT ALL they all live in the south


my family is the only one that lives up north


but my mum doesn't want to go - she hasn't spoken to my 2nd uncle (Carmen and Simon's dad and my mum's younger brother) since my grandfather's funeral 8 years ago

(he's my 2nd uncle because my mum is the eldest child and he's the second oldest - all my cousins have to call mum "Big Aunt" )


apparently he's been lording it over how well-off he is compared to us - something he attributes to us living in the north


he says we wouldn't be so poor if my parents had started the business in London or Surrey

it's true - we're poor right now - and my parents have borrowed money from my other uncles...

but we've never asked him for any money (or haven't asked yet ) My 4th aunt called up my mum and said that he's been saying some really horrible things behind her back - like since my mum has diabetes, if he did lend us money he might never see the money again because she might die soon that is just evil if it's true

my mum's diabetes is not life threatening like my 5th uncle's who needed a kidney transplant, moron!

12 years ago he and his family didn't have any place to go and we had to put them up for 2 months - 10 people in a 3 bedroom house! it was crazy

so now that he's well off he thinks he's better than us and can slag us off?! :mad: i kinda want my parents to borrow money off him now and not pay him back

i don't feel like going anymore..

but what if the invitation is like a peace offering? or maybe it's just an obligatory invite

Makoto totally stole the show with her impersonation of Go Hiromi (with a little help from Yossi^^ ). I googled a picture of Go Hiromi and I can definately see the resemblance XD

But try as I might, I just cannot seem to like Takahashi. Tsuji and Kago really annoyed me in this episode as well. Risa looked... cute.

I was really looking forward to Asuka Hinoi's new group. I loved her solo work and was sad to hear that she was being put in a group. The girls look good though and they've got good voices but it sounds too much like a Vengaboys song - and I hate the Vengaboys!

Hitomi - Japanese Girl




I totally love this song and music video - for obvious reasons The song is really catchy and I have to stop singing along outloud to lyrics like "I am Japanese!" and "I'm just a Japanese girl!" it's too embarassing..


I haven't heard any of her other work but I'll be on the lookout for her future releases! The c/w song is a cover of Bananarama's Venus - it's ok.

Mai Kuraki - P.S.My Sunshine





Mai Kuraki usually has really boring PVs. This one's a little better though because it's got an adorable puppy and a story. It reminds me of the H!P movie, Koinu Dan no Monogatari because it also features a shiba inu puppy. The storyline is kind of similar as well - a schoolgirl is secretly looking after an unwanted puppy. Mai Kuraki plays a convenience store worker.

I couldn't find the vob version to convert to mp4 so I used the subtitled version from Jpopsuki. The colour and font of the subtitles may be hard to read if your watching it on your PSP..

I love the song. It's uplifting and catchy. The pv is gorgeous. The rapper reminds me of Rosario Dawson. I don't know their names...
