LEARN or STUDY? - English Vocabulary #shorts
Today I want to talk about the similarities and differences between the word "learn" and "study". “To study” means to learn about a subject, usually at school or at university. “To learn” means to get knowledge or skill in a new subject or new activity. They're both verbs and they both have to do with acquiring knowledge in some way. To study is a process, it’s an intentional act. You study through reading, researching, and analyzing. When you learn you gain knowledge or skill through experience, study, or being taught. You study because you want to learn something. For example, you’re leaning English, by studying, by practicing, through exposure, by working with your tutor if you have one. Here are a few more examples to illustrate. To learn: When you travel to a new country, you learn about its culture, traditions, and language through immersion and experience. To study: If you're interested in learning a new language, you may study it by taking classes, reading textbooks, and practicing speaking and writing. I hope that helps. See you next time.
