Accelerationism is not the first worship of technology in the history of thought. A century ago, after witnessing the great power of the industrial revolution, Italian futurists had a strong interest in machines and their role in society. But their ideological trend also implies the risk of worshipping technology and speed. Many of them eventually became fascists.
