英PwCのパートナー、離婚訴訟で１１００万ポンド請求される（economiaより）

PwC partner in £11m divorce battle

まず、PwCのパートナーが、元妻から、１１００万ポンドの財産分割を求める訴訟を控訴裁判所に起こされたという記事。

The former wife of a multimillionaire PwC partner has told an appeal court that wives in her position are “discriminated” against by divorce courts, as she battles for her share of an £11m family fortune

訴えられたPwCのパートナーは、勅許会計士で、昨年８０万ポンドの収入がありましたが、元妻は、自分が犠牲にした職業生活に対して、元夫から補償を受ける権利があると主張しています。

Nicholas Hammans, a chartered accountant, leads the financial services and deals tax teams at PwC. He earned £800,000 last year, the court heard. Julia Hammans is arguing she is entitled to “compensation” from her husband’s earnings to make up for the working life she “sacrificed”.

元妻の弁護士によると、彼女は、夫との合意により仕事をあきらめる前は、ロンドンの百貨店Dickins & Jonesでfinancial directorを務めていました。

Patrick Chamberlain, QC for Julia Hammans, told the court that she was financial director at London department store Dickins & Jones and had a seat on the board before she gave up work “by agreement” with her husband.

Accountant funded surgery with fake goods

こちらは、美容整形マニアの女性会計士が、整形費用を賄うために偽物商品を販売していたとして８０００ポンドの罰金を科せられたという記事。

この会計士は、２５０００ポンドを美容整形に使ったということで、いくつかの全国紙に登場していました。

Hawk, who appeared in a number of national newspapers earlier this year after revealing a total spend of £25,000 on cosmetic procedures, was caught selling “defective” and fake GHD hair straighteners.

After a Oxfordshire Trading Standards officer posed as a customer of Perfect Strand Ltd – the company for which Hawk was director – products were found to be counterfeit.

販売していたヘアドライヤーは火を噴いたそうです。

Additionally, a hairdryer that was purchased caught fire when tested because it did not have a thermal cut-off fitted.
