国際通貨基金（ＩＭＦ）が、日本に対する２０１０年版の年次審査報告書を正式に発表し「消費税の控えめな引き上げを手始めに、財政再建を１１年度から始めるべきだ」と提言したという記事。

「報告書は日本の財政再建について「さらなる歳出削減を行う余地は限られている。今後の財政再建は、歳入増の施策と、（社会保障費などの）歳出増の制限に主眼を置くべきだ」と指摘した。特に「消費税率の引き上げを中心にしたさまざまな方策で達成すべきだ」として、増税を軸に財政再建すべきだと提言した。」
