EY promotes 669 new partners globally

EYが、グローバルで2016年に669人をパートナーに昇格させていたという記事。過去最多を記録した2015年の715人よりは減っています。

In 2016 EY promoted 714 people worldwide to partner, which was fewer than the record number of 753 in 2015.

30％近くが女性だったそうです。

This year almost 30% of the 669 new partners are women (a slight increase on last year) and 36% are from emerging markets, up from 35% in 2016.

日本地域は36人で全体の5％です。最も多くを占めていたのは Americas（南北アメリカ）で266人（40％）。EMEIA（欧州、中東、インド、アフリカ地域）が236人（35％）、アジア太平洋131人（20％）と続きます。

The largest group of the 2017 new partners are based in the Americas with 266 promotions (40%), followed by the Europe, the Middle East, India and Africa (EMEIA) area, with 236 promotions (35%). There were 131 (20%) new partners in Asia-Pacific and Japan had 36 (5%).

日本の36人は、税理士法人やコンサル会社も含んでいるでしょうから、監査法人だけだと30人ぐらいでしょう。毎年300人会計士合格者を採用して、そのうち1割がパートナーになれるという計算でしょうか。

ＥＹは、大手会計事務所ネットワークのうちの第3位であり、全世界で23万人超の従業員がいます。日本は1万人もいないでしょうから、パートナー昇格者がグローバルの５％というのは、ほぼ人数に見合っているのでしょう（従業員数の割合よりもやや多めか）。
