i suspect that...

my japanese tutor HATES me.

seriously! today the girl beside me asked me something abt what the tutor said, so when we were talking she was asking this other guy a question. THEN i guess she could hear us talking. then she ask "CHUA-san, u have a question?" (pointedly AT ME, and in a i-think-u-are-super-intolerably-rude tone) then since that girl HAD a question- i pointed to her, and she hurriedly said "NO! NO!" great. now it looked like i was lying.

then later, in the shoot-questions- to-make- u -speak kind of class session, she asked me " have u studied japanese for 5/6 years?" then i said "yes" (TRUTHFULLY- i CANT help it if the other ppl only did it for a year LOR) and she gave me an irritated face and turned to another person and asked the same question. (we are doing the "NO, i have ONLY studied jap for XX time)

and great. i just found out that we are graded every tutorial for participation. i almost NEVER repeat after her (EYEER, i find the repeating part super disgusting and puerile- like old school rote learning, plus there are all the enthu-fast speakers that annoy me)

NO WONDER she hates me. i am prob in her "not-serious-about-learning" blacklist liao

football

for my out-of-singapore friends, there was some kind of football craze going on now (which doesnt influence me or anyone close that i know) coz singapore had like a match with malaysia (which we won 6-5) and just now we had one with thailand. wah- can u imagine the kallang stadium filled to the brim?! 55000 ppl leh!

ANYWAY- it got super drama just now coz it was near the end (83rd min, and the score was 1-1 ) the singaporean players were near the goal box (or whatever u call it) and then the thai guy allegedly pulled the singaporean guy and both fell. referee say foul and give penalty to singapore- give red or yellow card, thai guy got angry and then he pushed the poor referee

AND GUESS WHAT?!

the thai team refused to accept the penalty and WALKED OFF!!!! all refused to play!!



WHAT SORE LOSERS RIGHT!!! no sportsmanship!

anyways, some one in a suit (singaporean guy prob) had to (like in a very 低声下气 way) to PERSUADE the thai coach to make his team come back (he look super mafia lor) then they nie nie for 15 mins can! in the end- the obnoxious thai came back ( still looking very self-righteous) came back and we got the penalty the end score was 2-1

hahaha- me who wont bother watching usually, got quite "riled up" (but the drama part was super entertaining- how many times do u get this kind of thing close to a possible riot is unhappening singapore?!) football is indeed an amazing thing

i am going to have such a LONG day today (i was in school by 8.30am and my day ends at 8pm)

sigh. this is supposed to be my slack sem. its japanese! those sadistic "u must self-study [all the time and memorise the textbook] to be better" ppl (and the worst thing is SOME PPL DO MEMORISE AND SELF-STUDY (hmm. does that mean that i am tooo lazy?)

ANYWAY! i almost forgot to post about my tragic friday. the STUPID BUS REFUSED TO COME and I ended up being late for my japanese tutorial, missed my listening test (they want everyone to be punctual so they start the test on the dot ) so i get a zero straight (NO RETEST ALLOWED)

busy busy

i am pretty caught up with things lately. i attended edlina's baptism and then played at tiffy's house on sat, met my old sc friends (yvonne, peggy, jieying and liling) and laughed for hours playing angmoh games like apples to apples (which according to tiffy is some mensa-orientated games), taboo and pictionary (hahah- and we lost super badly! even with all the hollering and team spirit- tiffy and peggy, the 2 artists were NOT in my team- i got keefe, yvonne (which explains the kiasu-ness to win) and chloe (and OH MY, chloe is 18 ALREADY! i feel so old!) and if u ppl remember trent- he is a whooping 1.8 m! i told him he prob ate up all of the tall DNA that skipped keefe and tiffy! HAHAHA, then sunday i had to be like the buffer for sister eileen to meet su (so awkward if she goes to her house alone MAH) hahaha -so val and i went for free (and super good) food

had a lot of japanese tutorials (really CRAZY i tell u) this very irritating china girl in my class (the i-know-a-lot-and-i-am-the-oldest (year4)-and-hence-i-know-all-the-answers-and-must-answer-loudly KIND!) too much man! she is in my TA and TB (and if i am THAT lucky my TC as wellllll!!!!) BOOOOOOO (for non-japanese takers in NUS- we have like 2 hours of lecture and 5 hours of tutorial- TA-2hours,TB-2hours and TC -1hour-CRAZINESS) and for my TB today, BOO- i sat next to this purposely must repeat everything super fast (to show that he CAN of course ) well, FYI mister. your pronounciation is CRAP. (and i still had to do pair-work avec lui. damn)

and clarissa~ ah po just had her operation today (btw) and heheh- shall tell u the story of the bent coconut tree another day--sleeepy (i sleep super early nowadays- and i decided to avoid going online coz i dont get anything done)

seriously. i am quite sick of vivo and i just spent 6 hours there today (my head feels floaty now- but then again- its probably the japanese lecture i had from 6-8pm)

val booked me to be her shopping consultant (she needs a total wardrobe change- after mission and all) and wahahhaa- i am supposed to be "trendy" enough~! WOOO HOOOO

and i finally got to meet rendy's Su! haha she is super sweet~! (now i know why 2 guys were fighting over her

well, we were supposed to meet at 11am. i was LATE by 10 mins ( was curling my hair with the roller MAH)- and when i arrived, NO ONE WAS THERE. figures. when no one call u or msg u asking about where u are. you are prob still NOT LATE. val msged back that she will be late. tiffy woke up late. i dont know how Su looked like and edlina didnt answer her phone (which i guess CORRECTLY. she was asleep. until like 2pm when we were having lunch at sakae sushi)

the POOR THING of the DAY was ABISH!!! oh dear. she was supposed to meet us at 11am then she called me at 10 to say she will meet me at 2 instead (then both of us - stupid ppl- never arrange specifically where to meet) SO, i called sis valoy (who consfiscated her phone AGAIN) and asked if she could tell abish that we will be at sakae sushi if she calls home. (i told abish we were going to sakae on sunday too when she complained that vivo was ex! and i said we could eat sushi!) well. at 2.30-ish, abish is still NOWHERE TO BE SEEN. and that silly girl didnt call home (which val and i thinks is the most PLAUSIBLE thing to do) i walked (with my super speedy legs- LONG MAH hahahaha) and found her in the control station at 2.40! poor girl!!! aiyoh!!! she really didnt think of calling home or walking to sakae (where she thought she knew we were there) (she says she didnt see the public phones -which was just at the corner or ask a stranger to borrow their phone!!!) i felt so bad! (i was about to go to the PA and ask them to help me announce "PAGING FOR ABISH LAI, PLEASE COME TO LOBBY L INFORMATION COUNTER NOW" over over Vivo already) hahahahaa- luckily i didnt! she wouldnt have heard it at the station and I would look quite silly waiting for no one!

and salad chen! you still owe me my ice cream! (tiffy couldnt resist and went to eat the wasabe ice cream- eeeeeeeks) and val was the wasabe queen- eating more wasabe and pink ginger than sushi.

and shopping was fun, even if u were shopping for someone else (OH! i forgot. miss val realised that she didnt bring money )

p.s. i think the japanese dept are super scary.
i didnt realise the lecture tests at the start of the lectures are for the lesson to be taught that day itself! so in fact, u are not taking the test for revision for the PREVIOUS lecture. BUT u HAD to learn the CURRENT lecture yrself AND THEN come to lecture to listen about the stuff u SUPPOSEDLY already read at home. and oh my. and so much homework! @@
AND i am supposed to fill in some "tracking your progress" form in the "SMART WAYS: Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, Time bound" like what are my goals in learning japanese blah blah blah and GOSH. why do they do all this kind of stuff?! urgh! i hate this kind of bureaucratic assessment crap

movie and togi

i seemed to be rather happening lately (this comes in spurts apparently- i was holed up in my house for most of the hols)

val, tiffy, edlina and i went for a movie at PS- called pan's labyrinth. hmmm. it was... interesting. the cinematography was great but it was rather bloody (and i thought the plot was rather flat) well well. all the reviews said it was good blah blah blah. and it was nominated for best foreign film blah blah.

tiffy said she loved korean food! and i brought her and edlina to togi! and HAHAHA- edlina started to play with her bibimbap bowl then tiffy started to say "ooh! lets do this! and that" and i think i cant show my face there anymore (tiffy even asked the staff to take a picture for us! he was grinning the whole time lah!)

val is back after a million years! so paul organised this gathering at wheelock's NYDC (which was super strange since val specifically said that she dont want to see any western food on sunday) haha

as usual, we (fine. I) started talking photos and we realised that val has no funny face. hahah val says she only has a serious face, very serious face and a smiling face. ( she cant do a funny face )


val says we need a sleepover! haha keesh and clarissa! pack yr bags and come home! (she asked for gossip and heh. got nothing much to tell her actually. since keesh was not here, things are so quiet.... booo)
