T-ARA "will focus on activities in Japan" and leave for Japan on the 16th

Girl group T-ARA will resume activities in Japan with "Roly-Poly".

T-ARA will leave for Japan on the 16th after six months of activities in Korea, including albums, dramas, and entertainment, including "Roly-Poly", "Cry Cry", "We Didn't Love You", and "Lovey-Dovey".

T-ARA, who will be devoting themselves to activities in Japan for one month, said, "We received the best album award for 'Roly-Poly' while promoting in Korea, and won a triple crown on a music program, so it's been a really happy year and we've been happy," and "We want to do our best to achieve good results in Japan."

T-ARA's Japanese version of "Roly-Poly" is scheduled to be released on the 29th, and the members will start their local schedule on the 16th.

(From Entertainment News)

K-pop girls group "T-ara" seems to have not yet secured the fan base they should have.

K-pop fans are becoming a high percentage of young people overall. K-pop fans tend to follow multiple groups and singers.

In my opinion, "T-ara" fans tend to overlap with "Girls' Generation" fans.

It may be good that they are coming at a time when their activities do not overlap with Girls' Generation's.

I don't mind them overlapping with "2NE1" and "KARA".

They may even welcome their overlapping activities with KARA.

KARA seems to have penetrated the Japanese living rooms the most, capturing the hearts of children.

"Girls' Generation" has also created a certain fan base from the living rooms.
However, I don't get that impression from T-ara at all.

The feel and texture of their music is similar to KARA.

The fact that they make music that gives the impression of hanging out at discos and clubs may have worked against them in Japan.

There's nothing wrong with music if you think of it as something on a different level from everyday life, but the living room is still influenced by the everyday lives of families.

If they project an image of being even slightly unwholesome or unhealthy, it will be difficult for them to gain a majority.

I'm not saying that's the case with T-ara.

Perhaps because they have members with strong personalities like Jiyeon, Eunjung and Hyomin, this has weakened the sense of unity within the group (although this would become a great strength if they became popular).

KARA and Girls' Generation have a family image, and have managed to turn the entire living room into fans.

If anything, T-ara couldn't do that.

It may have been because they were active in a place where they could have put their individuality (character) forward.

But Roly-Poly has a pleasant feel to it.
It's a dance number with simple choreography that can be enjoyed by both children and adults.

It seems to be popular in far-flung countries, and it seems like this song could easily find its way into Japanese living rooms, but we'll have to wait and see...
