TWICE's first full English single to be released "Global release in September"

★TWICE has announced the release of their first full English digital single.

On the 25th, JYP announced on social media that "The first full English single will be released in September, and will be released globally on a Friday in September."

TWICE released their 10th mini album "Taste of Love" reached sixth place on the major US chart, the Billboard 200, their highest position to date. This is the first time a K-pop girl group has made it into the top ten since BlackPink.

As this new album is the first all-English single with the global market in mind, fans are already excited to see what kind of charms TWICE will show.

Mina is the only TWICE member who is thought to be fluent in English.

They are probably exposed to English on a daily basis, so the members should be able to communicate in broken English. However, I would guess that Mina is the only one who can appear on a Western program and communicate freely with local talent in front of the camera.

In other words, even though TWICE is a global girl group, they never intended to expand into the West, and instead appeared as a group that traveled between Japan, China, Taiwan, and at most Southeast Asia.

When the members were trainees, there were several boy groups such as BIGBANG and EXO that were well-known in the West. However, when it came to girl groups, there were only a few hit songs by girl groups that K-POP fans held in the flash mobs in various countries.

In the first place, it was only 2NE1 that made a big impact on the local music market.

Even Girls' Generation was not well received by the Western public. Of course.

However, when BTS started their world tour, the situation began to show signs of change.

The K-POP boom reignited in Asia, and BTS, who started their world tour, played the role of messenger from Asia.

In other words, those several conditions (tributaries) came together to form a great river, and K-POP was blessed with the opportunity to revive (grow) its popularity with extraordinary momentum.

I think BTS was lucky enough to ride that flow and accelerate its popularity.

Maybe that's why BTS' popularity always feels special.

It feels a little late for TWICE to release an English song. They had no intention of releasing one originally, but considering how K-Pop has gained global popularity, it seems like the time has come to make it natural to do so.

If they are going with the flow and releasing a song, it would be better if it had some native feel to it, rather than just being understandable in the words.

Well, it's a good guess that this will be a song that Jihyo, Nayeon, and Mina will have to work hard on...
