Bad girls do it better, and for Pre-Fall

Bad girls do it better, and for Pre-Fall, Alexander Wang had one in mind. Then again, when doesn"t he? But this was not the oiled-up, onanistic siren of his now-infamous denim campaign, nor the stomping fashion goth of his Fall catwalk. No, for Pre-Fall over at diffusion line T by Alexander Wang, he envisioned a high school rule-breaker—if not outwardly subversive, then the type of girl who would steal away for a smoke in uniform after lacrosse practice. Wang expanded snappily on some of the all-American sportiness of the brand"s Spring offering, riffing on the Champion logo and working largely in red, white, and blue. Elsewhere, there were plenty of his familiar codes (the slipdresses, the slouchy trackpant trouser) and a touch of the utilitarianism he has so embraced in recent seasons, traceable in a boxy cropped parka with color-blocked details or the line"s first-ever puffers. Cozier propositions included handsome honeycomb knits and maxi sweaterdresses with varsity stripes—and we"d be remiss not to also mention a buttery pair of leather leggings with contrast stitching.Welcome to visit my Coach Sale store: http://official.uscoachoutletbags.com

The show opened with a simple

In the past few seasons, this collection drifted a bit from its identity, with excessive retro references and extraneous detailing obscuring Diane von Furstenberg"s strength: chic, sexy clothes for a smart, worldly woman. Ironically, it was a travel theme that brought DVF back home: Spring"s collection, designed by von Furstenberg and creative director Nathan Jendon, based on the idea of a grand tour, was bold, breezy, and focused.

The show opened with a simple, straightforward outfit: a cotton safari shirt and a pair of the slim shorts that have emerged as a major trend. Von Furstenberg added a glam touch by fashioning them in chocolate satin that would suit urban explorers as well as globetrotters. Plenty of sportswear followed, enriched with hippie flair: chiffon tops, gored skirts that fluttered around the calves (some trimmed with strands of jingly coins), schoolboy blazers jazzed up with bright colors and beading, and lots of those deservedly famous slim wrap dresses in a variety of prints. And summery dresses were rendered in soft cotton voile with a bright giant leaf print—the perfect thing to wear to a welcome-back party.Welcome to visit my Coach Sale store: http://coachoutlet.kchbags.com

Just the thing for the polar vortex

The most eye-catching looks at last season"s Chloé show were undoubtedly Clare Waight Keller"s goddess-y pleated pieces. Those pleats came off so strong, indeed, that some of her other good ideas flew relatively under the radar. But not to worry: The designer repeated herself here, reviving Spring"s sexy, side-slit skirts with little tap shorts underneath, not to mention that collection"s Mannerist blouses and its graphic lace and curving seams. Much to her credit, Waight Keller made all this look pretty fresh—and anyway, why should good ideas go in the bin after one outing? This time, she introduced a different kind of girlish inflection, with lots of waterfall ruffles, and worked that Chloé signature flirtiness against outerwear cocoonish and graphic. Piped wraps and short jackets in double-face wool had a ton of appeal; the knockout, however, had to be the reversible shearling blanket coat, patchworked in varying textures of shearling on one side and blocked in panels of printed shearling on the other. Just the thing for the polar vortex, you"d have to say.Welcome to visit my Coach Sale store: http://coachoutlet.kchbags.com

Tibi"s Amy Smilovic may not have control over the weather

Tibi"s Amy Smilovic may not have control over the weather, but the flurries and wind coming off the Hudson River fed into her Inuit and Arctic inspiration. And the collection she presented, full of minimalist knits in calm colors and forgiving proportions, would certainly feed into anyone"s desire to be warm, comfortable, and cozy.

This season, touch and feel was king. The clothes were soft. So many pieces included some kind of fur or fuzz detail. There were tufted patches on cream shearling coats and jackets, as well as intarsia and mohair sweaters—kind of like caribou when they shed, but elegantly executed. Those items were paired with bouclé culottes, fluid color-blocked skirts, sweatpants, wrap suede skirts, and a belled-shorts silhouette also seen in Pre-Fall. Of note were matching bouclé tops and culottes done in mint and lavender, and a gray fur worn with gray sweats that drove home Smilovic"s warmth message. It might also be one of the best takes on athleisure seen so far this week.

The color scheme was equally comforting: earthy neutrals, gray, navy, and pastel. "We wanted to do all shades-of," said Smilovic backstage. "Things that are very contrasty feel dated to me. It"s about wearing 12 shades of navy or five shades of burgundy. It eases up your wardrobe choices if you can just mix it up." And this is the kind of lineup that will give minimalist, fuss-free lovers many good options, whether they"re braving the elements or snuggled up at home.Welcome to visit my Coach Handbag store: http://official.uscoachoutletbags.com
