The First Noel

They looked up and saw a star, Shining in the east, beyond them far: And to the earth it gave great light, And so it continued both day and night:	見上げると星が 東の遥か遠くに輝き 地上に大きな光を 昼も夜も放ちました
And by the light of that same star, Three Wise Men came from country far; To seek for a King was their intent, And to follow the star whersoever it went:	その星の光によって 三賢者が遠くの国から 王様を捜しに 星をたよりにやってきました
This star drew nigh to the north-west; O'er Bethlehem it took its rest; And there it did both stop and stay Right over the place where Jesus lay:	この星は北西に近づいて ベツレヘム上空に落ち着き 動きをやめて留まったのが イエスが生まれた場所の上空でした
Then entered in those Wise Men three, Full reverently upon their knee, And offered there in his presence, Their gold and myrrh and frankincense:	あの三賢者がそこにやってきて うやうやしく膝をついて 彼の前に 金とミルラと乳香を差し出しました
Then let us all with one accord Sing praises to our heavenly Lord That hath made heaven and earth of nought, And with his blood mankind hath bought:	みんな心を合わせて 天上の主を褒め称えましょう 天と地を無から作って 彼の血で人類は贖われたのですから
