Added value by engraving

The upcoming limited edition — only eight watches are being made — features 3-D engraved decorations. However, the decorative design cannot be observed from the front.
This represents the Japanese aesthetic called uramasari. Traditionally, Japanese people enjoyed the contrast between inner and outer designs, as seen in men’s haori coats — plain and simple on the outside, but lined with better quality material, and bold flashes of color and patterns. It used to be regarded as more fashionable for gentlemen to keep these inner designs invisible rather than show them off.

人口増加で 歩くのも困難

急速なマンション建設による人口増が、駅周辺での通勤客の「歩行困難」を引き起こしている。
2020年の東京五輪を控えた、東京湾岸エリア（地区）。
道路に「混雑注意」の看板さえ設置され、地元自治体や鉄道当局は混雑の歯止めに苦慮。
タワーマンションと言われる高層ビルからの通勤客で、地下鉄・勝鬨橋駅付近の8時30分頃は、道路も「満杯」。
20年以上この地区に住む人も、「ラッシュ」を避けて早朝の7時に出勤を早めたという。
「プラットホームは人でいっぱいで危険を感じる」とも。
東京ばかりが、なぜ人口増？、と言いたくなるが、、。

Population surge brings commuter pain to Tokyo waterfront
The population in Tokyo's waterfront areas has ballooned in recent years and is only expected to keep climbing after the 2020 Olympics, ratcheting up pressure on the local government to expand its already crowded public transit system.

At around 8:30 one March morning, the subway platform at Tokyo's Kachidoki Station was completely filled with locals boarding trains and disembarking passengers heading to nearby offices. The sidewalk at an intersection above the station was also packed, with some even walking on the edge of the road.

A 48-year-old man who has lived in the neighborhood for two decades leaves home every day around 7 a.m. to avoid the rush. "The platform is narrow, and it feels unsafe during rush hour," he said. "There used to be less people and more space."

Toyosu Station on the Yurakucho line has also experienced a roughly 40% passenger surge, over the five years through fiscal 2015. High-rise condominiums are sprouting up on the waterfront of Tokyo's Chuo and Koto wards, just a stone's throw away from downtown.

一方の主人公・籠池氏の記憶力と証拠固め？準備の周到さも、初めから筋書きがあったようにも感じるが、、。
「事実であれば総理はもちろん、国会議員も辞める」と、いささか大業な物言い（セリフ）に当時、違和感を抱いたのは事実。
数時間に及ぶナマ中継のＴＶ放映の「証人喚問」が、この国はすでに、はからずも「女性の活躍する社会」であることの一端を見せてくれた・・・・？
・・・・・核心を握る（財務省の）役人が海外に長期派遣されたり、「会った、会っていない」の事実さえ争そわれる時は、過去には大問題隠しに使われていた、、そうだ、何十年も前の小沢一郎の場合だが、、。


In Japan, Right-Wing School Scandal Entangles 2 Women Close to Abe

TOKYO--Prime Minister Shinzo Abe of Japan has staked a significant part of his governing agenda on his plans to empower women. But an unrelenting scandal over allegations that a right-wing education group received improper political favors has ensnared two of the most prominent women in Abe’s life: his wife, Akie Abe, and his defense minister, Tomomi Inada.

Last week, the leader of the group said Akie Abe gave him an envelope of cash two years ago as a donation from the prime minister, a claim Shinzo Abe has vociferously denied.

The scandal has dented Abe’s popularity, and his feminist credentials have been especially hard hit.

建設現場の主役 老人とロボット

労働力不足の深刻な建設現場で働く主役は、ロボットやドローン。
重いものを運んだり、生産性や効率性を上げるには、今や人ではなく「機械」頼み。
高齢化で人には頼ることもできない。
日本建設業協会では、2025年度には、125万人が不足するとのこと。
2015年度現在でも建設業で働く人は30％以上が55歳以上で、29歳以下は10％に過ぎない。
今後10年間に90万人が建設業界に入ることが予測されてはいるが、それでも尚30万人の人手不足が懸念されている。
例えば、鹿島建設では、GPS無線を使っての無人のダンプカーやブルトーザがすでに活躍。
一人の人間がタブレットで、「現場監督」を果たし、究極の「生産性」を上げている。
その他の建設会社も現場は、ロボットが「主役」。

・・・・・汗水ながし働くのは人ではなく、ロボット。
人が職業に就いて働くのは、＜傍（はた）楽（らく）＞で、傍（そばにいる他人）を楽にしてあげること、とも言われたが、、今や、それを機械に頼む時代となった、人の情けも薄くなるのも、時代の流れ、、、、？



Japan’s labor-scarce building sites automating, turning to robots, drones
Construction sites in Japan are enjoying a wave of automation amid an increasing shortage of laborers, with the introduction of robots to do heavy lifting and drones that instantly collect aerial data.

As the industry ages along with the country’s graying society, construction companies are forced to look for ways to boost productivity and efficiency.

According to the Japan Federation of Construction Contractors, there will be 1.28 million fewer construction workers by fiscal 2025 compared with fiscal 2014.

In 2015, some 30 percent of all construction workers were aged over 55, while those below 29 accounted for only about 10 percent, according to the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism.

アマゾンの流れ クロネコが支配

ヤマト運輸が値上げを決めた、この秋からも27年ぶりに。
金額は決まってはいないが、最大手の値上げは他の輸送会社はもちろんん、他のアマゾンなど
インターネット物販企業にも影響を与えそう。
ヤマトの開発した輸送の「ノウハウ」は、世界でも注目される「輸送革命」とも言われるが、その反面、高度な効率性が配送労働者に「負担」とも、と言われてきた。
また、最近の労働労働力不足や留守宅への再配送の負担が、今回の「値上げ」を引き起こしている。
・・・・・ちなみに、ヤマトは、アマゾンの年間2億5千万個を含む約17億3千万個超える輸送をし、2位の佐川急便も約12億個の輸送をしている（2015年）。
宅配業界はヤマトと佐川で79％のシャアを有する寡占状態。
・・・・その昔、ヤマトの創業者・小倉昌男氏は、NHKの番組で「郵便をヤマトに任せてくれるなら、ハガキ（当時50円だったが）は全国50銭で請け負う」、と言っていた。

Package delivery fees for non-corporate clients to rise for first time since 1990
Yamato Transport plans to raise its shipping rates across the board for the first time in 27 years apart from tax adjustments, the head of the Japanese logistics giant told The Nikkei.

The rate bump -- the exact figure was not given -- will be implemented by the end of September. Yamato Transport is discussing higher rates with Amazon Japan and other large-volume clients.

Yamato Holdings' main unit is also inviting parcel senders to work together to reduce redeliveries, which are currently offered for free. "If we are unable to receive [the clients'] cooperation, we will be forced to reflect that in the pricing system," said Yutaka Nagao, president of Yamato Transport, hinting at the possibility of redelivery fees being introduced.

サウジアラビア国王ら 1000人越す日本視察団

石油王国・サウジアラビアの国王ら1,000人を超す同国の「視察団」が、明後12日から4日間日本に滞在する。
46年ぶりの来日、宿泊する高級ホテルや国内移動用の車両で特需を生んでいて、お金持ちたちのその人数と日本での「お金の落としぶり」に注目がいきそうだが、、、、、。
アメリカの中東における勢力の低下に伴い、サウジアラビアは「中東の盟主」として世界での地位を確立したいとしている。
エネルギーオイルの産出国として地位に安住することなく、2030年を目指す国家目標をもっている。
今回も、31歳の王子がその先頭に立って、２月末から約１カ月にわたるアジア諸国歴訪中の来日。

・・・・・この来日が、そうした「お金・経済」もさることながら、「日本社会の健全さ」を学んでほしいね。
いつまでも、「経済優先」ばかりを言っていると、こうした日本になってしまうよ、と教えてあげたら、、、？
・・・・総理大臣の妻が、「なぜ、こんなにも私が注目されるのかしら、、」と言わなくてすむように。

First trip in 46 years chance to reinforce ties, embrace kingdom's Vision 2030.

Saudi Arabia is rapidly changing as its generous welfare system and strict Islamic disciplinary rules are becoming difficult to maintain in contemporary society.

The oil-rich country will also have to work harder as the leader of the Middle East at a time when U.S. influence in the region is waning. As the kingdom further emerges on the world stage, Asian countries cannot remain idle spectators and merely rely on the Middle East for their energy needs.

Saudi Deputy Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman, 31, is leading the way under his Vision 2030 economic structural reform plan, which was announced in April 2016.

東京・広尾のサンパツ屋？は、豪華な部屋つくりや待合室などを備えた半個室で、スーツ姿の理髪師が対応。
「イギリスのパブやカフェ」のようにデザインした、と経営者。
‟男性にゆとりの時間を提供したい”とも。
日本で、現在のように男が理髪店に行き出したのは、明治維新の頃、横浜に到着した西欧人から、と言われる（「全国理容師連盟？」）。
「頭や顔など体だけではなく、心のリフレッシュの場所としてのご利用を」と歴史ある店の「現代的」経営者。
70分9,000円の値段は、高い？そうでもない？

Barber shops: Cozy spots where men can relax
Today’s barber shops are not just a place to quickly get a haircut, but more like a salon where customers can sit back and relax while they receive top-class services, freshening up their look and clearing their mind.

The Barber Hiroo in Tokyo’s Hiroo district in Minato Ward is furnished in dark brown wood tones, with antique furniture placed around the waiting area and reception. Barber chairs are located in partitioned semi-private rooms, providing space between customers, and the lighting is subdued.

“We designed the space with British pubs and cafes in mind,” manager Masamichi Nagai said.

豊洲市場 地下に埋まる密約

小池・都知事の「移転延期」がもたらしている、東京中央卸売市場の移転問題。
汚染された？豊洲市場の土地以上に汚染が心配されてるものがあるらしい。
当時の石原・都知事、浜渦・副知事と土地の所有者・東京ガスの「密約」交渉。
2001年当時の両者の交渉が、「地価に埋められて」有権者には知らせれされていなかった模様、当然、都議会にも。
土地の売買は、それが大きな額や公共用地に関係するものは、しばしば、文字通り「地価（地下）交渉」となりかねない、（森友学園のように）。
今日、小池知事も、石原・元知事も記者会見。
東京の「六本木ヒルズ」の建設も、ヤクザと思われれ人たちの「努力」なしには建設できなかった、とされる。
・・・・こうした「闇」の部分をなくせる？　安倍さん、、安倍さんに頼んでもダメか。



Vice governor, Tokyo Gas may have struck deal for Toyosu site

Negotiations over the sale of the contaminated Toyosu site for the Tsukiji fish market’s relocation in 2001 may have been sealed after a secret deal was struck by the Tokyo metropolitan government with land owner Tokyo Gas Co., sources said.

The under-the-table agreement was likely intended to placate the utility’s concerns about the project.

Bogged down by scandals regarding the presence of toxic materials at the site, the project to relocate the renowned fish market to Tokyo’s Toyosu district has come to a halt since Governor Yuriko Koike launched a major probe into it last year.

Tokyo officials, including former Governor Shintaro Ishihara, have come under much fire over the ordeal.
