I have enjoyed uploading at least one blog everyday and don't want
to break the trend, but I will be taking some blog time off over the
Holiday. So please come back and check again after the New Year

山野学苑 仕事納め

今年も一年無事に終えられる事に感謝して仕事納めの日に挨拶をしました。
　

冬休みの間にゆっくりと体を休めて、年が明けたらいよいよMYタワーへの引越しや
オープニングに向けての準備で忙しくなるのではないでしょうか。
　

山野学苑の皆様から新しい家族が無事にこの世に産まれて来るように、明治神宮で
祈願して下さったお守りを頂きました。(しかも大好きなピンクのお守りです)

これで、もう安心ですね。　ありがとうございます

今日は小さな家族が加わる前準備としてお宮参りの着物を見せて頂きました。

J-ART ＜総集編 収録＞

Here we are filming one of the final  J-Art programs. We are reflecting back on
all our various guests that we have had on the show.
いよいよ最後のプログラムとなる、J-ARTの総集編を収録しました。ゲストとして
来てくださったゲストの方たちを振り返って特に印象に残った言葉などと共に放送
される予定です。

We are talking about all the really unique guests that we had the privilege of
meeting and how each one was very passionate about their work.
振り返って考えるとそれぞれの分野で才能と個性に溢れるゲストの一人一人に
出会うことのできた感謝と、ゲストの方が共通して持っていらした仕事への
情熱が思い起こされます。

It's winter time here and our legs were cold...........
収録現場の八王子にあるお茶室「愛治庵」にも冬が訪れ、寒い中での
収録だったので、カメラに写らない足元を温かくして撮影に臨みました。


総集編の放送は来年　1月16日(火)22：30～ から6回に渡って放送される
予定です。もう一度見たいゲスト、見逃した回がある方、初めて見る方にも
ゲストがJ-ARTの中で語って下さった仕事への愛情と情熱生き方など
熱いメッセージがたくさん詰まっていますので、是非楽しんで見て下さい!!

Yumi Jane Bridal Academy Final Testing

終業式に続いて、課外授業で行われているユミ&ジェーン・ブライダルアカデミーの
終了試験が行われました。

Watching the bridal presentation with fashion designer Yumi Katsura.
まずは明治会館のステージで在学生に作品を見て頂きました。写真左は
ステージの下からトータルで審査をしているデザイナーの桂由美先生と私です。
　

Later we are backstage grading.　その後、別室に移動してさらに審査を続けました。
　

They were graded on the hair, make-up, bouquet, nails and modeling. 
(with the veil on and off)　学生はグループごとに終了制作であるウエディングの
装いをトータルで行い、ヘア・メイク・ブーケとドレスのバランス・ネイル、モデリング
などをベールをおろした場合とあげた場合等、全てを審査されます。
　

Each team had to explain the look they were trying to achieve and how they
coordinated the total attire with the hair　style, make-up, nails, bouquet and
accessories.　各チームは今回の制作コンセプト、ヘア・メイク・ネイル・ブーケ等の
トータルコーディネートの為の工夫、そしてアクセサリーのポイントなどについて
プレゼンテーションをします。制作したものの説明をするということも、自分の目標を
さらに明確にする上でとても重要な勉強です。
　

Ms. Yumi Katsura addressed the group with constructive criticism. Like
necklace length according to one's neck, color coordination and more.
全ての審査を終えて、桂由美先生からは総評として首の長さや太さに応じた
ネックレスの長さ、色使いについて、また、チームとして作品を作り上げるときの
注意点として、一つ一つのディテールに拘りながらも、トータルのバランスを
見ながら完成させる必要性などについて貴重なアドバイスを頂きました。

Then it was my turn.  I commented on the make-up, hair 
styles and how important it is to be prepared.　
私からは、ヘア・メイクについてのアドバイスに合わせて、必要なものを全て
そろえ、準備を整えてから仕事に取り組むことがお客様との信頼関係を
築く上でも重要であることを伝えました。

I was very happy to see all the students do very well, but we all must remember
that there is always room for improvement and as professionals it is a lifetime
learning process.　全ての作品の審査を終えて、その完成度が高かったことを
とても嬉しく思いました。しかし、大切なことは今回の出来上がりに満足するのではなく、
プロとして生涯をかけての勉強の途中にいるということを認識し、常により良い
ものを目指して努力し続けることです。皆様のこれからの活躍に期待しています!!
　

山野美容専門学校 終業式

山野美容専門学校は先週終業式を無事に迎え、1800人もの学生が冬休みに
入ったので、学校周辺の雰囲気まで静かで少しさびしい感じがします。
Students must be excited to be starting their winter vacation soon!!
待ちに待った冬休みに学生達は嬉しそうでした!!


Asking the students to please use what you have learned 
on your family or friends during the holidays and make them 'happy'!!
冬休みに入るにあたり挨拶の中で、「先日のテレビ収録で田口壮選手を
インタビューしたときに、田口選手はマイナーに席を置いていた時代も、
自分は必ずメジャーで活躍する事ができると信じていた。とおっしゃっていました。
そのような強い信念があったからこそ今回のワールドシリーズのチャンピオンでの
活躍のチャンスも逃さず捕らえられたのだと思います。
皆さんもあきらめることなく、挑戦し続けてそして夢をかなえて下さい。
そのための努力を続けて下さい。誰でも良いので習得した技術を使って、
友達や家族をハッピーにしてあげて下さい。」と伝えました。


また来年、この場で皆さんにお会いするのを楽しみにしています!!

Very HAPPY to see the Taguchi's again and now it's time to relax!!

Over the years, we usually meet some where in the USA (LA, San 
Diego, St. Louis) and now finally in Japan!!

As a family we are HUGE Taguchi Fans!!!

With Emiko by his side So is very fortunate to have such a professional and
best friend as his wife!!! I started to enjoy watching baseball as Emiko was
able to explain not only the game, but all the little things that go along with it!
恵美子さんの様に、プロであり、親友である奥様が傍にいて下さる壮さんは
とても幸せ者だと思います。私が野球を楽しいと思えるきっかけとなったのは、
恵美子さんが隣で野球の解説だけではなく豆知識や裏話を織り交ぜて話して
くれるようになったからです!

このグローブには田口選手がメジャーリーグデビューした日が刻印されています。

Holding the bat that So used during the World Series and thinking 
of how proud and how much respect I have for him in so many ways!!  
The bat was signed by all the players on the Cardinal team!!
壮さんがワールドシリーズで使ったバットの重みを手に感じると、壮さんを
誇りに思う気持ちと尊敬の念が改めて湧き上がってきます。
このバットにはカージナルスのチームメンバー全員のサインが入っていました!!

We talked about so many interesting subjects, so please watch the program

私が様々な質問をすることを楽しんだように、皆様にもこの番組を楽しんで
頂けたらとても嬉しいです!!

We talked about cultural differences, what the players are talking 
about in the dug out, how he survived the minors, American style
of 'ladies first' and much more!!　収録ではその中には文化の違い、
ダッグアウトで選手たちが話している内容、マイナー時代をどのように
生き抜いたか、アメリカ式の"レディーファースト"などなど　大変興味深い
話を沢山聞くことができたました!!

So moved to St. Louis about the time that Stan moved to Japan. They both had
big challenges ahead of them and have grown to speak the language of the
country they live in now. We respect and look up to So for all that he has been
through and achieved during his years in the USA!! I belive many people has been
encouraged and given strength through his life!
壮さんはスタンが日本に来たときと同じ頃にセントルイスに発ちました。二人とも
大きなチャレンジに立ち向かい、現在住んでいる国の言葉を話せるまでになりました。
壮さんがアメリカで得た経験や成し遂げたことを思うとき、いつも尊敬の
気持ちで一杯になります。同じように田口選手に励まされ、勇気を貰った人が
沢山いるのではないでしょうか。

Just about ready to start.... I was so excited and happy to have So
there as I'm only a baseball fan when he is playing!!
収録直前の一枚です。私は壮さんがプレーをしているとき限定の
野球ファンなので、今回一緒にお仕事ができて本当に嬉しかったです!!

I was explaining to So that I was on my way to Hawaii during the World 
Series Game and all I could think about was getting checked 
into our hotel room and　turning on the TV to watch the game!! 
(Leave the luggage outside, just turn on the TV!!!!)
ワールドシリーズの試合の時はちょうどハワイへ向う飛行機の中でした。
移動中ずっと、早くホテルにチェックインしてテレビが見たい ということしか
考えることができないくらい落ち着かない思いでいました。　(やっと到着した
ときには、荷物は外に置いたままでいいから早くテレビを付けて!! という感じでした)

J-ART 第11回ゲスト メジャーリーガー 田口壮選手 <歓迎編>

I was so excited to have this interview with him and so very happy to see him again!!
今回J-ARTのゲストとして田口壮選手をお迎えすることができて、収録のこの日を
とても楽しみにしていました。久しぶりにお会いしたのでとても嬉しかったです!!

Stan and I got a big surprise gift as So unloaded it from the trunk and gave us
a PINK baby stroller for our little one to come!! 　(There I am in my RED
CARDINAL jacket!!)　到着した壮さんはスタンと私に大きなサプライズギフトを
用意して下さっていました!　車のトランクから出てきたのはもうすぐ生まれてくる
小さな家族の為のピンクのベビーカーでした!!　(私が着ているのはもちろん、
赤いカージナルスのジャケットです!!)


Stan looks pretty good pushing, don't you think??? Practice makes perfect!!
スタンはベビーカーを押す姿がなかなか様になっていると思いませんか???

So was welcomed by many of our students with some dressed in the
long sleeved kimono.　撮影は山野美容芸術短期大学にあるお茶室「愛治庵」
で行われるので、多くの学生達が壮さんの到着を待っており、中には振袖を着て
お出迎えした人達もいました。

Everyone was so happy and it was an honor for us to have So Taguchi with us!!
その場にいた全員が壮さんの到着に湧き立ちました。
田口壮選手に来校して頂いてとても光栄に思っています!!

2006年最後の山野学苑理事会に出席しました。
来年は山野学苑も元の場所に戻り新しい校舎でのスタートとなりますので、
理事の皆様に改めてその運営方法等についてご報告させて頂きました。
