"MANSION OBA” 【ライオンブックス③】

ムサシ野。山を削り森を開いて造られた新開地の住宅街。そのずーっとはずれにたたずむマンションＯＢＡ【Over-built Apartment Keeping】。そこには故郷を奪われた【おばけ】たちが住人となって暮らしていた。いつか人間に復讐してやろうと。
There was a forest in which lived numerous hobgoblins. But the forest was cleared by a development company and turned into a residential areas. The hobgoblins who lost their habitat pleged to take revenge on the human beings who were the cause of their losing their homes.
ここで登場するおばけは妖怪・妖精の類で、狛犬のような強面【長老】でも３頭身だったり、美少女花の精がいたりします。唯一このおばけたちが復習の道具として招き入れる人間がタカシ君。とはいえドタバタ騒動の後に記憶を失いＯＢＡから去ってしまういます。
本作は1972年に番外編も含め３話構成で掲載されました。
第１話 マンションの住人たち（昭和４７年３月掲載）
The hobgoblins changed themselves into human beings and started to live in a Mantion where a boy named Takashi who had run away from home come to live with them. The hobgoblins decided to take revenge on human beings by utilizing the boy Takashi but they chaged their minds when they discovered what a kind soul Takashi had.
第２話 春らんまんの花の色（同４月掲載）
The hobgoblins finally discover the man who had actually destroyed their forest and with magical powers they manage to kill him. But due to various laws, the hobgoblins are not able to have the forest returned to them.
第３話 耳ガラス【原題 耳鴉・でんでこでん】 （同５～６月掲載）
there was an ancient and run-down castle in a ghost town which had once been very prosperous in oldendays. When Takashi came to the site of the town, he discovered that the crows who lived in the castle were being oppressed and tormented by dogs and cats who roamed around the dilapidatedarea. Takashi plucked out the long tail feathers of the crows and struck them on the heads of the birds to give them a ferocious and strong look. The ghost of the castle, one Dengaku-no-kami, decided to utilize the crows and regain the past glories of the ghost town and make it a prosperous one full of a human inhabitants. But the hobgoblins who loved nature, fought against the ghost of the castle and succeeded in defeating him. Thus, Nature reigned peacefully and serenely over the ghost town again.
いずれも２１世紀になってしまった今日に通用す『郷愁への想いと現実社会にわだかまる矛盾』というテーマが一貫し、最後まで一息で読めてしまう楽しい作品だったと思います。人にあらずというキャラクターが活躍するということもまたより客観的な理想と現実の矛盾を掘り下げて考えさせる効果もあるのではないでしょうか。

阿波クン【ぽんぽこ腹の漫画家】化けタヌキ。人の気持ちを汲むのが上手い。
オッショさん【踊りの師匠】メスの化けキツネ。タカシを弟のように思っている。
四六先生【漢方医】ガマ。薬は自前だが妙薬。
ハルちゃん【女の子】花の精。タカシと相思相愛となるも・・・。
木皮さん【ご隠居】木の精。頑固者だが優しい。キノコをはやした奥さんがいます。
タカシ【人間】漫画家志望の少年。阿波クンに弟子入りがきっかけ。
里イモ田楽守【サトイモデンガクノカミ】亡霊。耳ガラスで一儲けたくらむ。
耳ガラス【耳はタカシが生やした】↑にたぶらかされる。
私的にはオッショさんが好き。なんとなくツンデレなところが・・・
手塚治虫の息子殿も妖怪がらみで映画を作っていましたが、この記事を加筆中の現在２０１０年もまた妖しい者たちが各メディア方面で暴れている模様。そこにいわゆる「美少女もの」的なエッセンスが散りばめられるのは流行か、必然か、はたまた無謀か。
いずれにしても水木しげるは妖怪の親分だったんだなぁ、と思ってみたり。
最近では星野リリィ原作コミック「おとめ妖怪ざくろ（月刊コミックバーズにて連載中）」ですが大正浪漫風情重視プラス妖怪といった感じ。２０１０年１０月６日からアニメ放送開始なわけですが・・・サクラ大戦ですね。メカ抜きの。とはいえ夏目友人帳（原作 緑川ゆき）や蟲師（原作 漆原友紀）も面白い作品でしたが半獣半人ならず半妖半人すなわち妖人からの視点という点で、この手塚治虫作品と共通する部分があるかも知れませんね。
