Hi,

My name is John, but a lot of people call me “John-John.”  It`s been my nickname since my first week living in Japan.  I`m from Belfast, the capital city of Northern Ireland and the place where the famous ship the “Titanic” was built.  Now I work at Sapporo Grand Hotel Mae Campus which is great for me as there`s a handy art supply shop just around the corner.

You see, I love to draw, particularly illustrations and comic book style art.  As yet I haven`t really been able to get into Japanese manga but maybe you can recommend a couple of titles to me.  I like to draw pictures to help with explanations in lessons too; that`s always fun.

Another of my interests is football.  In Europe, people usually refer to my favourite sport as football but Americans, Canadians, Australians and New Zealanders call it soccer.  For Americans, football means American football, for Aussies it`s Australian rules football and for Kiwis it means rugby.  My favourite team is Glasgow Rangers FC, whose rivals are Celtic FC.  You might have heard of them as Shunsuke Nakamura plays for them, but  Rangers are a bigger and much more successful club.  Of course, I would say that.

Finally, I`m a big moviegoer.  I`ve been a cinephile since I was a kid and even studied film in university.  Maybe one day I`ll make a movie about an English school in Sapporo・・・.

Until then, see you!

moviegoer / cinephile ・・・ どちらも[映画が好きな人、映画好き] という意味
