カランク (Caranque)

折角南仏にいるのに海を見ないのも・・・ということで、
マルセイユの南側に点在するカランクと呼ばれる入り江へといってみました。
政府の管理の下、国立公園として保護されているらしく、
透き通った海がそこではきちんと保存されていました。

膝までつかってみて、『あー、気持ちいいー。』
やはり、地中海はこうでなくては、ね。

As we are now in Provence, we visited the Mediterranean sea,
especially, the beautiful are called 'Caranque.'
This area is administered and controlled by French government,
so the nature is preserved as it was.

Of course, I enjoyed walking in the sea with my knees wet.
This is the true Mediterranean that I imagined.

カリキュラム終了！ (P5 is over!)

と言うわけで、今思えばあっという間の10ヶ月カリキュラム。
今週の水曜日のテストでとうとう終わってしまいました。

自分がどれだけビジネスマンとして成長したのかは不明ですが、
日本では味わえない経験を目一杯出来たこの1年間は
生涯忘れられないでしょうし、今後の僕の人生の糧となるでしょう。
陰で支えてくださった皆様に感謝の気持ちで一杯です。

で、テストが終わって早々、友達と一緒に南仏の旅へと出かけています。
ちょうど今、プロヴァンスはラベンダーが咲き誇っている時期で、
友達の強い希望でラベンダー畑をめぐりました。

こうして南仏の快適な気候と自然を目にすると・・・
日本に帰りたくなくなってきている今日この頃です。

So, now that 10 month's program has not been felt so long.
I've finished my all my Insead curriculum with final exam this Wednesday.

Not sure how I've grown up as a professional business person,
but this 1 year would enhance my life in the future and
I'll never forget it.
Now I'd really like to say thank you for those who have supported me so far.

Then, immediately after finishing my exam, my friend and I left Fonty
and am visiting Provence, southern part of France.
Lavender is now blooming around Provence this season,
so we visited the Lavender fields as my friend really wanted to.

The weather and nature in Provence are so nice that I would not
like to go back to Japan soon...

プロヴァン中世祭 (Medieval Festival in Provins)

フォンティから北東へ車で小一時間のところに、
中世の家々がそのまま残っている街、プロヴァンがあります。
ここもユネスコの世界遺産の1つなので、以前から行ってみたかったところです。

で、今週末は年に1度の中世祭で、人々が当時の衣装を身にまとい、
パレードや大道芸などが行われていました。
というわけで、ちょうどこのタイミングに合わせて行って来ました。

友人達と行く予定でしたが、1人は宿題が終わらず、もう1人はそのために
勘違いしてすれ違いと結局1人で行って来ましたが、
こちらも勉強があるので、簡単に済ませて返ってよかったかも？（苦笑）
ちっちゃいながらもお祭り雰囲気で、屋台も美味しく、いい気分転換になりました。

Provins is the small city with Medieval houses and castle,
only 1 hour drive from Fonty and one of the world heritages.

This weekend has it once-a-year Medieval festival,
in which people there (and tourists!?) wear Medieval costume
and realize the scene at that time.
So, I visited Provins today to see this event.

At first, we were supposed to visit there in a group of 5 people,
but one could not finish her homework, and the other misunderstood
we would not go today due to her cancellation etc...
Then, I went there alone...
However, I enjoyed the atmosphere of festival, eating food bought at food stand.

レピ・デュパンとムーランルージュ (L'epi Dupin et Moulin Rouge)

先日はヴェルサイユ訪問の後、予約していたビストロ、"レピ・デュパン"へ。
先日のオー・リヨネと同じく、大阪のフレンチレストラン、メゾン・ブランシュの
オーナーシェフに勧められていたカジュアルレストラン。
地球の歩き方にも載ってるせいか、観光スポットには乏しい？
サン・ジェルマン・デ・プレ地区なのに、日本人客が思ったよりいてました。

どうやら模様替えをしたらしく？、地球の歩き方よりも今風な外装。
そして日本語を話せるギャルソンの方がいるのにもびっくり。
（日本語と最初は分からなかった・・・）
大分地球の歩き方にお世話になっているようです。

味・サービスはパリのベストビストロに選ばれるだけあって素晴らしい♪
ワインも３人でモレ・サン・ドニの村名ワイン（2000年）を1本空けました♪

で、その後お楽しみ？のムーラン・ルージュへ（写真）。
11:00から1:30くらいまで久しぶりにシャンペンとショーを楽しみました。
フレンチカンカンとちょっとしたダンスオンリーかと思いきや、
ジャグリングや客参加のコメディショーと幅広く楽しめました。
いろいろと突っ込み甲斐があるので、まだの方は是非・・・

ちなみにドレスコードはTシャツにサンダルでもOKです。

After visiting Versaille, we went to the bistro "L'epi Dupin."
This restaurant is also recommended by the owner chef of
"Maison Blanche," the French restaurant in Osaka, JAPAN.
It is also introduced in the globe trotter guidebook,
one of the major travel guidebook in Japan;
therefore, we found a lot of Japanese peoper there
although it locates in Saint-German-De-Pres, which is not
a major touristy place.

It seems that the restaurant changed its exterior/interior(?),
being very different from its picture on the guidebook.
We were surprised at being spoken to in Japanese by its garcon.
Probably the guidebook brings so many Japanese tourists there...

The main course and its service were very good.
The reputation that it was chosen the best bistro in Paris was true.
We enjoyed drinking a red wine, "Morey-St-Denis." (Vintage: 2000)

Then, we headed to the night show, Moulin Rouge (see above).
Really enjoyed watching the French can can show and champagne from 11:00 to 1:30.
I did not expect to watch jaglling and comedy show, but they were really fun.
And you may find any other surprises...

ヴェルサイユ (Versaille)

友人との約束が延び延びになっていたのですが、
先日ようやくヴェルサイユに行くことができました。

宮殿は初見では流石に豪勢！という感じでしたが、
中は想像よりも質素？でした。
個人的には他の有名な宮殿・城とかけ離れている感はあまり無く、
なぜヴェルサイユだけこれだけ有名なんだろう？という気分でしたね。

ですが、庭はちょっと格が違ってました。
その広さと各所に見られる様々な装飾・工夫は名前に足るという感じ。
数ｍもある刈り込みや、ワシントンDCのリフレクションプール周辺を
超える規模の見晴らしは気持ちよかったですね。

ただ、友達等と行く場合は携帯持参で行きましょう。
まず、はぐれます・・・^^;

To keep my promise with friends, we visited Versaille the other day.

The first impression of castle was superb but the interior looked
not so spearheading; I was wondering why only this castle was
more famous than other histrical ones.

However, the garden is great.
Its vast area and detailed decorations seen everywhere were
worth being praised and respected.
The high bush (several meters) and landscape that remined me of
the reflection pool area in Washington D.C. were very impressive.

FYI, when going with your friends and so on,
keep in mind to bring your own mobiles;
otherwise, you might have hard time to find your friends...

就職先決定 (After Insead)

えー、詳しいことはよく分からない（理解できなかった？）ので言えませんが、
とりあえず大阪へ戻ることになりました。
（ホッと胸をなでおろす・・・）

めっちゃ忙しそうな部署でもないので、そういう意味でも一安心？（油断は禁物？）
というわけで、大阪・京都の皆さん、よろしくどーぞ♪
（東京の皆さん、たまには会いましょう～♪）

I've got the news from my boss this morning that
I would be back to OSAKA next month!
Don't know what I do precisely, but sounded not bad...maybe...

It seemed not so busy job; in that sense, I'm happy as well.

ボワ・ル・ロワ (Bois Le Roi)

とは、僕が住んでいる村？の名前でござんす。
場所はフォンティの北東15kmくらい、
駅はパリから来てFontainebleau/Avon駅の１つ手前です。
ちなみに名前の意味は『王の森』<=どこが？は謎

ここに住んでもうすぐ10ヶ月が過ぎようとしています。
（シンガポール2ヶ月を挟んで）
村の中心はあまり冴えませんが、僕が住んでいる辺り（写真）は
セーヌ川の辺で建っている家々も別荘地の雰囲気で、
かなりのーんびり出来ます。
実際、休日にはサイクリングやジョギングを
している人達をよく見かけます。

あと3週間かそこらでここを離れてしまうのかと思うと、
ちょっと寂しい気分になる今日この頃です。

is the name of village I live in now.
It locates in 15 km north east of Fonty;
the SNCF station there is just next to Fontainebleau/Avon from Paris.
FYI, "Bois Le Roi" means "King of forest" in English...

I've lived here for about 10 months including 2 months in Singapore.
The center of this village is not so big, but
I like the place I now live in; which locates along the river Seine (see above).
You can see a lot of big houses there and be relaxed surrounded by nature.
In fact, I often see so many people jogging and cycling.

The graduation will come soon.
I feel kinda lonely thinking of leaving here in 3 weeks or so...

起業シミュレーション (Entrepreneurship In Action)

もうすぐP5も終わりに近づいていますが、
全体的にのほほんと言う雰囲気の中、
一部の学生達は5日間の週末集中授業に参加しております。
まぁ、僕のそんな学生達の１人なんですが。

授業の題目は『起業シミュレーション』で、シミュレーションソフトを使って、
電気製品？のベンチャー企業を株式公開レベルまで持っていくというものです。
目的として、
・限られた時間で決断を下す
・ベンチャー企業のダイナミクス
・現金が底を突く（→倒産の危機！）
などを体験すると言うものです。

昨日も夜8時まで授業があり、今朝のプレゼンのため深夜まで居残り、
今日は朝10時から夜の8時半まで。で、明日も・・・
といった具合です。

マーケティングや組織行動論でも行いましたが、
Inseadには優れたシミュレーションソフトが多い気がします。
時に熱いディスカッションなどで衝突することもありますが、
今回はチームメンバー（セルビアx1、インドx2、エジプトx1、日本x1）にも
恵まれて笑いが絶えず、しんどいながらも楽しくやってます。

さ、あと２日頑張らないと・・・^^;

Now that our promotion is coming to the end,
everybody is not so serious for studying...
However, some people are participating in the concentrated class
held during this whole weekend (5 straight days).
I'm also the one of them.

This is "Entrepreneurship In Action."
Using simulation software, we can experience how to run a venture
business of durable products in consumer electronics.
The objectives consist of:
- Decision making within limited time
- Dynamics of venture business
- Experiencing running out of CASH (meaning the financial crisis).

We had a class yesterday from 14:00 to 20:00;
then we had to have a group work for presentation this morning till midnight.
Even so, today's class started at 10:00 through 20:30, repeating tomorrow as well...

I think that Insead offers a lot of good simulations in such as
marketing and organizational behaviour.
Although we had serious discussion so often,
we are really enjoying studying maybe because, I think,
we have great team members consisting of
- Servian x1
- Indian x2
- Egyptian x1
- Japanese (me!) x1
It's really fun!

However, I'm still in class...2 more days to go...^^;

突然の訃報 (Sudden bad news)

一応念のため言っておきますが、我が家族・親戚のことではありません。

僕は詳しくは知らないのですが、今、フォンティに通っているMBA学生のうち、
１人の方がプールでの事故で昨日お亡くなりになったようです。
私的には存じ上げない方なのであまりショックはないのですが、
やはり比較的身近で起きた出来事なので、少しは考えずにはいられません。

Inseadの仏キャンパスは車で通っている学生も多く、
少し前に飲酒運転で事故死した方もおられるそうなので、
フォンティ開始の学生は、飲酒運転禁止キャンペーンのポスター作りなどもやっています。
僕も更に気を引き締めていこうと考えているところです。

今日は正午に黙祷がささげられ、その後も亡くなった方の写真を集めたり、
名前を冠した奨学金の設立を訴えたりといった活動が行われています。
こういった精神はあまり日本では（少なくとも個人的には）見受けられなかったので、
見習わないといけないなぁと感じているところです。

亡くなった方のご冥福をお祈りします。

This is not about my family and relatives.

Although I do not know the details, but it seems that one of the participants
here at Insead Fontainebleay campus passed away due to the accident in a pool.
As I do not know him personally, I'm not so shocked;
but I cannot help thinking of this as it happend around me...

There are a lot of people who commute to Insead by car,
and we all like drinking at friend's house, school, restaurants and so on.
Some time ago, there were some people who passed away with car accidents
after drinking...
Therefore, we have a campaign to make posters
to discourage people to drive after drinking.
Now that I heard this tragic news, I'm now thinking it again...

We had a silent prayer at noon today and some students volunteered to
collect pictures and videos of him to keep his memory in our mind.
Others seem to suggest to build a scholarship in the name of him.
These kinds of activities are not so popular in Japan as far as I know.
I felt that we should learn these considerations even in Japan...

I pay my last respects...

日本人飲み会 with HEC (Japaese dinner with HEC students)

先週末も何かと忙しい週末でした。

土曜日は財務の宿題（倒産寸前？の会社の建て直し後の財務諸表予想作成）を
こなした後、パリでHEC（アッシュ・エー・セー）の日本人学生の方々との
飲み会第２弾へ参加してきました。
以前来ていた方は既に卒業されたりしているので、
また新しい方をお話したり、久しぶりの韓国料理（写真）を堪能したり、
と楽しい夜でしたね。

日曜日は早朝からパリへ出てきて「パイレーツ・オブ・カリビアン３」を観て、
スタバで別の授業の予習をしたり、漫画喫茶で月刊誌の最新版を読んだり。
で夜は再び財務の宿題のまとめを・・・

今週末はフルタイムで授業が入っているし、Insead生活で最も面白かった
パーテイーの第２弾があったりと、しばらくはのんびりできそうにありません。

Still busy thesedays...

Last Saturday, after finishing my part in group assingment of finance
(to make financial forecasts of a firm in financial distress),
I enjoyed having a dinner at Korean restaurant in Paris with HEC and Insead students.
The people I met last time has already graduated;
so we could talk with 1st year students at HEC this time.
The korean cuisine here (picture above) was also good.

Last Sunday, I was watching "The Pirates of Carribean; at world end" in Paris in the morning,
then studied other subject at Starbucks and enjoyed reading latest comic books and so on.
At night, then, I had to tackle the finance again...

I will have a 5 straight days class this weekend and a big party which
I really enjoyed during P2 last year.
Although it's P5 now, I would not be able to be relaxed for a while...
