Fukushima vacation

 Fukushima is a very under-rated (穴場） vacation spot. I have lived in Japan for 13 years,  and have visited more than 30 prefectures  (県）,  but my trip to Aizu-Wakamatsu was one of my best vacations. We visited the beautiful  castle (城） Tsuruga-jo, but the best part of the trip was Goshiki-numa.  There are eight marshes (沼） here, and they are all different colors.  Some are red, some are brown, some are blue, and one is  a little bit red. If you ever get a chance, by all means  (是非）, visit Fukushima prefecture. - Ed

右脳？左脳？

There are two kinds of people in the world: People who blog and people who don't. Another way to divide the people in the world in half is the left-brained (logical) and the right-brained (creative), but it seems to me that left-brained people are better at keeping journals, diaries and blogs. Most of the people around me who have blogs are left-brained. Here's how I know. Clasp your hands together like above...


Is your left thumb on top? If it is, you are probably right-brained. This means you are probably not an accountant or a classical musician and you can't keep a blog.

Is your right thumb on top? If it is, you are probably left-brained. This means you are probably not an artist and it's easier for you to keep a blog.

When I'm teaching a private lesson for the first time, I try watch and see if the person is left-brained or right-brained. They have different ways of studying English, and so I'll try to teach them in different ways.

But even though you are right-brained or left-brained, I've been told that you can enjoy doing something that's not "normal" for you. So since I'm right-brained, I will try to be a little left-brained and write in this blog once a week.
