Today’s topic is “linking sound.”
When we speak foreign languages, one thing that makes it difficult is pronunciation.
If we compare between English and Japanese, their pronunciations are remarkably different.
It’s because “Intonation, Word stress, Rhythm” are of course different, but to make English more difficult is “linking sound.”
In other words, because of linking sound, it’s hard for Japanese to listen to and understand naturally spoken English.
Some examples of linking sound is following…
I'm gonna study English. (I’m going to study English.)
I wanna travel abroad. (I want to travel abroad.)
I've gotta go. (I have to go.)
Sometimes in the TOEIC test, this linking sound appears too, so you should know them & be prepared.
When you want to get accustomed to native English speaker's English, the best way is to practice listening & speaking!!

英語に限らず、外国語を話す時に一番の壁になるのが“発音”です。
英語と日本語を比べてみますと、その発音が全く違うことはお分かりいただけると思います。
全く違う要素はいろいろとありますが、その中でも“イントネーション・音の強弱・リズム”が違うということに加え、英語には“つながる音”があるということも挙げられます。
この英語独特の“つながる音”に慣れないことには、“ネイティブの話す英語を聞くこと”は難しいと思います。
さて、その“つながる音”ですが、下記のような表現が主に使われています。
gonna (= going to) 例：I’m gonna study English.
wanna (= want to) 例：I wanna travel abroad.
gotta (= got to) 例：I’ve gotta go.
時おり、TOEICテストでもこの“つながる音”を耳にすることがありますので、知識としてまずは頭に入れておくと同時に、準備しておきましょう。
一番良い方法としましては、やはり“口頭での練習”につきます！
